I woke up in the morning with a banging head and a cast on. How the hell did this happen?
Suddenly, all of last nights memories came flooding back to me. Meeting some gangsters, almost getting raped, pretending to be Gabriel's girlfriend and going into the same room that Alfie was in at hospital. Wow! What a night.
I started getting dressed for my job at the local bakery. I loved my job there. I was in the back most of the time but I sometimes was out front.
It was the best bakery in Brighton for me. It was a small quaint bakery on Meeting House Lane. It was quirky and it was absolutely perfect for me.
I was wearing a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a Rolling Stones top on tucked into my jeans.
My makeup was simple, mascara and eyeliner with tinted lip balm. Done. I skipped down the stairs with my hair in a messy ponytail.
My dad was loaded with money, but yet I still worked. Me and Alfie used to go to the bakery. I guess I just can't let him go yet.
"Hey pumpkin, where are you going?" He asked as I started putting my vans on.
"Work at the bakery." I said as I grabbed my leather jacket.
"Bring me back a cake." He joked, I laughed and started towards the bakery. It was only a 10 minute walk.
My dad was very supportive for my job at the bakery. He loved what I brought back everyday I worked. I walked in and instantly the smell of chocolate, vanilla and a load more smells blended together to make it almost seem like home.
"Hey Mal." Ally said from where she was behind the counter. I nodded my head as I hung my jacket up and got hold of my apron. Ally was a bright and cheerful girl from my school. She was one of the popular ones but without the normal blonde hair, blue eyes but with striking red hair and hazel eyes. Her porcelain skin and freckles made her look like one of them glass eyed dolls.
"What the hell happened to your arm?" She asked as she examined my cast. Her eyebrows were furrowed and she held a look of confusion.
"I'll tell you later, kay?" I replied as she nodded and followed me into the back. I started walking to Roses office. My manager. I didn't know what I would be doing today so it would be easier to just see her.
"I see Gabriel Wood is taking a bit of an interest in you." Her eyebrows danced and wiggled and she smirked. I blushed and knocked on Roses door. A 'come in' sounded and I opened the solid oak door.
I walked in and saw my manager sat at the spiny chair in the centre of the room.
"Hey Mal, well today I wante- what on earth did you do to your arm?" She asked as her eyes widened and focused onto my cast. I shrugged and she carried on with what she was saying. "Well, I was gonna say that your in the back making the rainbow cake, but due to your arm; I guess your in the front taking orders." I nodded my head and retreated into the front.
"Yay! Your working with me!" Ally said as she gently hugged me, being careful for my arm.
"Yay." I said lacking enthusiasm. I didn't mind working in the front but I really wanted to make a cake. She rolled her eyes and dragged me into the front. I followed behind her and took my place next to her, in front of the cash machine and the deliciousness of the cakes that lay before my hungry as hell eyes.
