Chapter 1

I sit there, not remembering of what has recently happened and what my future holds. I'm in a strange room, palms sweating, lip trembling.

My magic tingles through my veins to my fingers, but I have to control it. Now would be the worst time to let my magic come out. It would land me in lots if trouble.

If I were stupid enough, I'd quite possibly think that the best thing to do at the moment is run and hide, but they'd catch me and most likely kill me. So what choice do I have but to sit patiently and await my fate?

Suddenly a really tall man enters the room with a baton looking thing in his hand.

"Right this way," he says roughly.

I slowly get up and walk towards the next room, knowing it's not my fault what recently happened. The shackles around my wrists making a big racket. I stop myself from bursting in rage. If I let my magical energy escape it'll make it worse for me, if that's even possible.

I'm led into a huge glass case.

I turn around and look at the guard, really confused and frightened.

"You'll tell us the truth or stay here to starve."

"But I have been telling the truth, I swear!" I exclaim, desperately pleading for another chance to tell my version of what happened.

"Starve it is then," he says, then walks out, leaving me in there on my own.

I sit down and start pondering about if it's even within the law to do this type of thing when I feel my magic for the third time today. I have to use it now. Dying quickly is far better the fate I have now, to slowly starve to death.

I concentrate really hard on forcing my magic out in the way that I want it to. I feel it rising and It suddenly explodes out of me. I'm forced against the glass of my prison the strength of my own magic is that strong.

Once everything has settled down again, I look around for any weakness in the glass, but find none. I sit back down and start rethinking a plan to get out if here.

All of a sudden, the same man who led me into this cell comes up to the glass.

"Any more magic from you and you're dead, no exceptions, got it?" He asks, the same expressionless look on his face as before.

"Got it,"I reply, not letting my fear show. I need to put up a fight, or I'll never get out of here.

He walks away silently and leaves me alone once again.

I have to control anymore outbursts, otherwise I will die, but then again, I'm going to die anyway. This'll just be a quicker and less painful way to die, I think. But to be able to actually try my luck, I need to work up my magic again, which is going to take time.

I need to get out of here.
