~Prelude~ Morgan was never a normal girl. Her imagination always ran wild as the forest that surrounded her small southern town. Where others saw things as they were she could see a hidden meaning be it light as an angel feather or dark as the shadows. Growing up a only child with an mother that worked as an full time secretary and father that worked as Anesthesiologist didn't give her much time with family. She was practically never saw her hard working father and when she did see her mother she always had her ear glued to her IPhone. Morgan was just a lonely four year old that's only company was that of her distant family...that was until he came along.
~Chapter one~
A meeting born in sorrow
Morgan sat her in her luxurious princess themed bed room overlooking the window to the outside world. She watched as other children would walk by her house with their parents. She never understood it. How did they have the luck of having a family and actually spending time with their parents. She returned her gaze to her fairy tale book and gripped it tighter.
She luckily knew how to read at an early age. Her family never had time to read to her, not even at bedtime. So she often read to herself. Today she decided to read Cinderella. This fairytale has to be her favorite mostly due to the godmother. She wished that someone would come in and save her from her loneliness. Little did she know what was bound to happen?
After about an hour of reading she tied up her black hair in a ponytail and jumped down from her day bed that overlooked that window. She sighed"...I'm bored!" she screamed out knowing her grandmother was downstairs watching her soap operas and could care less than to appease her bored granddaughter. She then decided to go play in her playroom. She ran down the long hallway that was covered in decorative abstract art paintings. She walked into the lilac colored room and noticed a new toy among the numerous that she had already had. "Maybe mommy and daddy wanted to surprise me." she said to herself in hope.
She ran over to the plain black and white jack in a box and could not help but to crank the lever. Once cranked it started to play the melody of a very familiar tune. " All around the mulberry bush, The monkey chased the weasel, the monkey thought was all in good fun p-" and before she could finish singing along with the happy melody a monochrome clown with black spiky shoulder length hair, sharp teeth and pale eyes was in front of her. "Pop goes the weasel" he said in a thick English accent while poking her small pale nose. She couldn't help but smile up at him. To young Morgan this was the answer to all her prayers. She would no longer be all alone. She would have a play mate. Someone who she could tell all her secrets too
. "Hello" she looked up at him and tried her best to hide behind the many toys that littered the shiny hard wood floors. Young Morgan was unsure of what to say to her new clown friend. But luckily the clown had had many friends. "Hello, hello, hello! What are you doing here all by yourself? You seem sad. Here have some candy." His large claw like hands engulfed her tiny hands to take the treat. She was amazed how did he just make the candy appear was beyond shocking. She ate a few of the colorful sweets and put the remaining ones in her pocket for later. "Well my family is often busy with their own stuff. Mommy answers phones and daddy works at the hospital helping people. My grandmother often watches after me but is usually wrapped up in knitting or the tv." she said barely above a whisper.
She was slightly embarrassed. She never told anyone of her personal life and it felt odd to disclose all this information to someone she didn't even know. The clown simply smiled his sharp grin at her "Well you're in luck! You see your new friend Laughing Jack is going to be your friend for life." He said picking up the tiny child and giving her a piggy back ride.
"There are many games to be played and fun to be had. So what's your name? He asked in a curious tone. "My name is Morgan Mr. Laughing Jack" he carried her all throughout the playroom on his shoulders and talked to her all afternoon. Soon it was five 'o clock PM, which meant her parents would be home soon. She groaned up at the clock and looked up at Jack.
"I gotta go eat dinner with my mommy and daddy. Grandma will be leaving soon anyways. Will you be here when I get back?" she gave a saddened look up at her new friend. He ruffled her ebony hair and tickled her sides. "Of course little one I did say I was your friend for life didn't I?" he lightly pushed her out of the room as she giggled. "Now don't worry about me I will be awaiting your return." she said her goodbyes to the clown and shut the door behind her.
Soon as the door closed Laughing Jack's smile turned more sinister. "Oh little Morgan I can't wait to turn you into my pet." He then thought to himself that soon there fun would end and her entrails would be scattered all over his mad carnival and he sighed "Maybe just maybe she might not be like all the others."
On the way downstairs Morgan was humming the tune of Pop goes the weasel while thinking of her new friend. Once she reached the last set of stairs she heard the sound of yelling. Once again her parents were fighting "Dammit Emily! Can't you do anything fucking right? He threw the vase that once held wildflowers to the floor. "Well Eric it isn't like you do anything to help the situation."
Morgan's mother said in a matter of fact voice. Morgan couldn't help but wonder why they were yelling this time but instead of thinking these thoughts she decided that would make her presence known by humming. After all this music always seemed to help her when something bothered her so she thought the same would go for her parents. She hummed her new found favorite song yet again and both Emily and Eric turned to there four year old daughter. Eric rolled his eyes at her and decided to stop yelling for Morgan's sake. They decided to save the argument for later.
"Well you seem chipper today Princess. What have you been up to?" her father asked. She smiled up at him and said in the happiest voice she could muster "I made a new friend his name is Laughing Jack" The parents than turned to each other and nodded. They knew she was lonely and thought it was natural to come up with an imaginary friend at her age. "That's nice sweetie. Tell us about your new friend. That evening over lasagna she told them all about her new monochrome friend and all the fun that she had.
After a few weeks Morgan's attitude took a turn for the worst. She was restless, mean and vengeful. One evening while it was late they found her digging up her mother's roses until her nails beds were bleeding. "Morgan Williams! What do you think you're doing!" Her mother yelled out at her from her car. She turned to mother and let out a horrible scream. Her mother ran over to her and carried her inside.
"You're in big trouble little Missy! Why would you even do that" she said while sitting her on the side of the bath tub, trying her best to bandage up her daughter. "L.J. Told me to do it mommy" she said while hanging her head in shame." Her mother shook her head "No more about this Laughing Jack. You hear me no more!" she screamed out at her daughter. Morgan looked up at her mommy and just nodded her head. She didn't want to bide her new found friend farewell but for the sake of her family she felt as though she didn't have any other choice.
Her mother looked at her as Morgan's baby blue eyes filled with tears "Besides Sweet heart you're going to be starting Kindergarten tomorrow. You will have real friends...little boys and girls your age to play with" she tried her best to smile kindly at Morgan. But she just shook her head "You don't understand Laughing Jack is real and he is my friend." she sulked off to her bedroom after her mother poured more peroxide on her blood covered hands. Once to the bedroom she closed the door behind her and fell onto her bed. Laughing jack appeared beside her in a matter of seconds "What's wrong Kiddo?" he asked. Morgan looked up at him and frowned with tears going down her face "Mommy doesn't want me to be friends with you anymore." Laughing jack simply petted her through her long raven black hair. "Now, now little one you don't have to cry over this. Tell you what we will still be friends but we will keep this as our little secret." she smiled up at him and hugged him. She handed her some more candy and she ate it quietly before she went onto bed.
He anticipated tomorrow. He was all to excited to see what his little pet could do at his beckoning call. He thought to himself "I may keep this girl around she is stronger than the others" He then disappeared in her room and went to his carnival home for the evening preparing for her first day at Kindergarten.
The next morning Morgan awoke to Laughing Jack sitting near her bedside. He had already packed up all her supplies that she would need for her first day. "Are you excited to be going to school?" He asked he was curious he had to know if she longed for companionship from other humans. Morgan's eyes barely opened and she yawned. She pulled the blankets over her face "Laughing Jack, what time is it?"
Morgan turned to the pink alarm clock that was beside her bed. It read five am. She groaned but turned towards Jack. "Good morning" she mumbled. She than remembered his question. She shook her head no. "No, not really. Your the only friend I want Jack...besides the other kids are not like me." He looked down at her and smirked. "Good morning to you too Morgan" He couldn't help but smile today was the day he was going to really see what she was made of.
"Morgan, I have a special game planned out for today. It will be a little different than the last few we played." He than chuckled darkly "You see we are going to add an new playmate into the picture because I have decided that I am going to go with you to school"
Morgan couldn't help but smile and clap. "Now I won't be so alone and scared" she said above a whisper. "So what is this new game like that we are going to play?" she titled her head in question. He smiled and giggled at her enthusiasm. "You will know when the time comes"
That morning Laughing Jack helped her pick out a black and gray plaid skirt, pink and white polo and white stockings with black flats. She shut the door to her restroom and left Jack in her bedroom waiting for her return. Once back in her room he put up her hair in pigtails. "You look great! You are bound to make plenty of friends." she smiled and looked up at the mirror and smiled at her reflection. "I hope your right Jack...but no matter how many friends I make your my best friend" She poked his chest and speed off down the stairs but not without grabbing her pink and blue backpack.
Laughing Jack stood there for a few minutes in shook. "D-did she mean that..." he shook his head. "Isaac said that once" he said out loud to himself. He thought back to the box that he was trapped in for years, how his colors faded, and how Isaac killed that one blonde woman he brought home. His blood lust consumed him. He smirked. "No going back now Morgan. You know what they say kill or be killed"
Once she got downstairs from getting ready and saw her mother in the kitchen on the phone. "Yes he has an appointment at noon open would you like to fill that in" Her mother noticed her daughter and gave a slight smile. "Okay Thank you so much Mr. Harrison. Have a great day" she said in her professional voice. She than pressed the red button on her phone to end the call.
"Well is my Big girl ready for her first day of school? She bended down and kissed her forehead. Morgan shook her head and smiled. Her mother than handed her lunch that she packed. "Where's daddy? Isn't he coming with us to drop me off." Emily gave a frown. "No sweet heart he couldn't make it. If he could have he would have but duty calls"
Morgan frowned and teared up but didn't bring it back up.
After breakfast with her mother they left the house. Emily locking the door behind her. Morgan waited near the car. She looked up and saw Laughing jack smiling down at her waving. She waved back and Emily noticed. "Who are you waving at?" Her mother asked curiously. She didn't have to ask she already knew all to well who she was waving at. She was hoping Morgan would leave Laughing Jack or what she named her imaginary clown friend behind her but it seemed as though Morgan couldn't let go of her way of coping with the loneliness. Morgan was about to answer the question until she remembered what took place in the flower bed. "No one mommy...just the house."
Soon they pulled up to Saint Helen's Catholic school. Morgan looked at the outside of the building with a blank stare. There were children playing outside, and kids that looked to be her age being walked in with there parents. Emily turned to Morgan "Sweet heart you need to get out of the car. I have to be at the office at eight am sharp." Just as Morgan was about to open the car door her mother handed her a piece of paper. "This is your bus number and class number. Don't loose this okay. Daddy would pick you up but he is booked."
Morgan frowned at the piece of paper but took it anyways. She waved good bye as her mother speed off down the road. Just as she was about to cry there stood Laughing Jack under a tree. He smiled at her and waved "Told you I would be here for you kiddo." She wiped her tears and once again felt safe. She walked into the school side by side with Jack.
She looked at the piece of paper when suddenly a brunette boy ripped it out of her hand. "Hey cootie girl" He than pushed her down and she scrapped her knee. She didn't cry, groan or make any sound. She didn't understand why this child would push her down. She just looked at him in curiosity. "Cootie? What is a cootie? She turned to Laughing Jack that just laughed lightly. "A made up disease that little brats use on one another kiddo"
She went up to the boy "Your stupid. There is not such an thing as cooties. There made up. You.Are.A.Jerk." she jabbed him in the chest with each word she would say. He was left there in shock. This boy he thought to himself a recces he would have his revenge.
She than down the hallway that was covered in childish artwork. As she she passed each drawing she noticed the same symbol. She turned towards Laughing jack. "Hey...I know this is an odd question but why does each drawing have the same symbol in it." The monochrome clown looked taken back he didn't see anything in any of them. To him they were just scribbles but he knew all to well what she was seeing. Maybe Morgan was different and the fact that slender man was watching her made it all the more possible.
Once the pair got to room 106 Laughing Jack disappeared but not without saying his goodbye. "Morgan, don't worry I will watching. I will be back at recess than we can play our game. The boy from earlier is our new playmate. Now play nice with the other kids" he waved goodbye
Morgan walked in to the classroom. It was odd being around other children her age. They already seemed to be in there own groups. She frowned and went over to a corner until she noticed the child from earlier. He gave her a cold hard stare full of detest and in return she stuck her tongue out at him. She couldn't believe this boy was to be her and Jack's new friend. She honestly had no idea what he was thinking.
Once the clock hit seven am a loud bell went off. She covered her ears and the teacher came out from behind her desk. She introduced herself and told the class to go around when it was to the twelfth person she froze. It was her turn. She felt scared but knew there was no other way around it. "Hello, My name is Morgan Williams, I am four, and my favorite hobby is playing with my friend" she quickly sat down. Once it was the count down was at the last student she noticed it was that child that said she ha an imaginary illness.
"Hello everyone the name is Cody. I love to color, play video games and eat pizza." he sat down but not without waving to everyone. Morgan rolled her eyes.
After the horrible introductions Mrs. Jones handed out a coloring page of an apple. She decided to make her's black and white. The teacher walked around and noticed everyone else besides Morgan colored there's red, green or yellow. She walked by Morgan's desk. "Wow yours is really imaginative" Morgan's eyes lite up. This was the first compliment she ever received.
Soon it was lunchtime. Everyone either got in a line or sat themselves down with there lunch boxes. Morgan sat down by herself sighing. She really didn't like the other kids. They weren't fun like laughing jack was. They were boring and plan. She took a bite of her peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich. She just wanted to go home and forget about this stupid place full of stupid people.
After her lonely lunch time the bell ring for recess rang. She once again smiled. She knew that she was going to be able to see Laughing Jack. She ran outside towards the monkey bars and saw him hanging upside down. She ran up to him and hugged him "I hate this place...can we just go home" soon as she asked the kid known simply as Kody pulled her away from the clown.
"You embarrassed me in front of the whole class!" he yelled at her and pulled one of her pig tails. The pain seared there her scalp. Laughing Jack was suddenly behind her his shadow engulfing her tiny one. He leaned down to her left ear "This is your playtime kiddo, go wild" soon he let go of her shoulders. Morgan was suddenly filled to the brim with rage.
She grabbed Cody's hand "Don't...ever touch me again!" she shouted out and pushed him to the ground. She than stood over him grabbing his hair. "You think it is funny to pull someone's else hair do you? How does this feel you jerk?" she pulled hand fulls of his out and wasn't even remotely calm afterwords. He kept crying out for help and Morgan little blonde Mary sue running towards the building she rolled her eyes. She knew her fun was to be ruined soon.
Morgan than slammed Cody's face against the ground several times until blood was pouring down his face. Morgan than lifted his face and looked at it with a huge grin. She got near his ear and whispered "The only reason your still alive is my friend wants to see you suffer" There were bloody splatters all over her pink dress and white stockings. Laughing jack smiled a sinister grin. This was a sign of her potential and now he could see why Slender man was interested in her. He disappeared to the carnival once again
Soon the playground erupted in yelling from the teachers. They pulled poor Cody off the ground and looked at Morgan as though she was some sort of monster. Mrs. Jones came up to Morgan and pulled her into the principals office to call her family.
In a matter of forty five minutes both her parents were in the small crowded office that was surrounded by holy objects. Morgan looked around and noticed her parents expression was one of disappointment, anger and enraged. Her parents were forced to pay the hospital bill for Cody and Morgan was forced to go to a therapist.
Once in the car ride back home her parents were dead silent for ten minutes that was until Eric couldn't take it anymore. He looked up in the mirror and saw her in the back. He couldn't hold back his feelings anymore "Morgan, your nothing more than an disappointment to your mother. Truth is you have been nothing more than a pest since you have been born. It would have been better off if your mother didn't have you...like I told her when she told me she was pregnant.
Emily turned to Eric and scowled "How dare you tell her this! Your nothing but a selfish bastard. All you every thought about is yourself! I can't believe I married you."
All the way back home Morgan had to hear how she was waste of money and energy to her father and as her mother tried her best to shut him up. Though oddly enough Morgan didn't feel anything. She finally felt alive.
After several visit's to the therapist and to many med to even list Morgan went back to being a normal little girl. She started to have friends that lived in her neighborhood and eventually stopped talking to Laughing Jack. She went as far as to even denying his existence to her parents.
~Two Years later~
Morgan was sitting outside swinging in her year. Her friends Ashley and Kayla were out with there parents. It was an sunny Saturday and the whole street seemed to be bathed by a blue cloud filled sky. She leaned back and let the wind go through her ebony hair. She smiled and started to hum a familiar tune. She closed her eyes and thought back to her old friend.
Morgan sighed and shook her head. "No...he couldn't be real. I'm just being stupid." when she opened there the monochrome clown stood behind her pushing her on the swing "Long time no see Kiddo" Morgan gasped and turned around. She smiled up at him. "Yeah" she giggled "It's been awhile. I missed your company" Laughing Jack nodded. " I agree it has been quite sometime. How have things been?"
Morgan stopped the swing. "Honestly boring. My parents wanted a normal little girl and they got me." she trailed off "But I have two new friends there names are Ashley and Kayla. There okay I suppose. But nothing like you." She frowned. Laughing Jack pulled Morgan into an hug.
"I missed you too Morgan." Laughing jack reluctantly let go of her. Morgan went over to the grass and laid back "I wish I could just make it all stop, the thoughts I have, the feelings I have to hide. I just want to be myself. I don't wanna hold back anymore"
Jack's eyes gleamed. He laid beside her and watched the white cotton candy cloud pass by. "You know Morgan I know a way I could make it all stop." She jolted up and looked at him "You do!" she shouted in surprise. He chuckled "Indeed I do Kiddo! But it will have to wait till this evening kiddo. Let good ole Laughing Jack guide you through this." She nodded.
She heard a car pull up and knew that her mother was home and in an hour her father would be home and would expect dinner on the table. She smiled at him and said a quick goodbye.
Within an hour and thirty minutes the family was sitting around the table eating grilled chicken and a new salad recipe that Emily was trying out. It was quiet and peaceful until Emily spoke up "So Morgan what did you do today?" she smiled over at her young daughter that was picking over the salad picking out the small orange slices and cranberries.
"Oh nothing much just played outside with Laughing Jack" soon as that named escaped her lips she knew she was going to regret it. Eric's face twisted into that of pure hatred. "Oh that shit again huh?! Wow I was wondering when your true colors would come back. You sick little shit. He threw the salad bowl over her head nearly missing Morgan by an centimeter.
Emily screamed "Eric! Can't you see she is sick! You acting like this isn't helping her. We just need to take her to a hospital they can fix her." Eric rolled his eyes "Yeah of course put her on more pills that is really going to help! God damn Emily can't you see there is no helping her! She is sick. Maybe I can beat the crazy out of her."
Out of nowhere Morgan's nose began to bleed and she started to shake. Morgan grabbed the clean napkin and held it against her nose to stop the bleeding. The anger was boiling in her again. She was so sick of her family. So sick of there words, there actions and most of all sick of Eric. But instead of attacking him she took a deep breath. She needed to trust Laughing Jack. She knew he would come through after all what are best friends for?
Emily eventually calmed Eric down and they went upstairs to talk which more and likely meant more fighting and more hateful words. She remained downstairs that was when Laughing Jack appeared to her yet again. "Well kiddo are you ready for debut?" he asked
Morgan was confused what he meant but agreed nonetheless. "Yeah...so what do I do?" She questioned. Laughing Jack looked around and grabbed a sharp butcher knife. "Here...this should do the trick for now. Though after this kill I will have to get you a better weapon that is if Slender man doesn't do so before I do. She titled her head. He had never spoke of this person before. "Who is Slender man?" Laughing jack ruffled her hair. "You will know when you see him kid. He is powerful, carries himself with pride and I guess you would say he is the strongest out of our kind. Some say he is old as the universe. He is very tall, has no face, and wears a well made tailor suit."
Morgan looked up at laughing Jack. "He sounds scary." Laughing jacked nodded "Yeah he can be very scary but wouldn't harm you long as you respected him" Morgan nodded. She was unsure if she ever wanted to meet this Slenderman.
After Morgan talked to Laughing Jack and hide the knife under her shirt. She ran upstairs and waited for time to pass. Soon enough it reached 3:00 am. She creeped out of her room with butcher knife in hand, and Laughing Jack trailing behind her.
She soon stepped into her parents room careful not to wake them. She was soon overlooking them as they slept and smiled down at them. She thought it was somewhat humoring that they would soon be sleeping for all eternity. She couldn't help but to have a small giggle go past her lips. Eric heard her and was quick to raise but wasn't fast enough. Morgan took her knife and embedded it deep within his chest. And turned it. She saw blood pouring out over the Egyptian cotton sheets and white duvet. Eric screamed out for Emily but it was to late.
Laughing Jack held Emily down as there once beloved daughter gutted her. Morgan let out a laugh as her mother died in front of the father. Laughing jack than let go of the mother once she took her last breath and threw her corpse across the room.
The father couldn't stop shaking. His wife laid dead before him, his daughter just killed said wife and last but not least his daughter didn't lie about her imaginary friend laughing Jack. "W-What are you?" he screamed out at the monochrome clown who just chuckled darkly. "Just a clown oh and your daughters best friend" he than bowed. "You may have heard of me the name is Laughing Jack"
Morgan than ran towards Eric. "This is for putting me down" she stabbed him "This is for calling me crazy" she stabbed him again "and this is for for being threatening to kill me and beat me" She stabbed once again in the chest. At this point she couldn't stop stabbing him in the chest. She was soon covered in blood and the bed became a pool of blood. Laughing jack than slightly shook her out of it and Morgan lightly grazed his cheek with her knife.
"Woe there. He is dead. You can't him anymore than he already is." his voice brought her back into reality. She looked down and saw what she had done. "No.." she dropped the knife. "I couldn't have just done this" she screamed out. Laughing Jack than laughed "Yeah you did and now your free." he smiled at her. She shook her head "No this isn't right. They may been mean but they didn't deserve this."
She than went into her room and grabbed up all her fairy-tale books and put them in her backpack. She put the backpack on her back.. She than walked out to the garage and found the can of kerosene. She opened the lid and lead a path all through the house. Once in the kitchen she found the lighter her mother once used to lite candles for special occasions. She walked herself to the front door.
Laughing Jack grimaced he didn't understand she wanted freedom and that was what it was going to take. He walked beside her and watched as she lite the lighter. The spark danced along the path that Morgan made and soon the fire engulfed the whole house.
They were walking on the sidewalk when all the sudden the sound of sirens filled the air she turned to Laughing Jack and frowned. "Looks like I got caught..." she laughed as tears feel down her checks. Her baby blue eyes looked clouded.
Soon the cops were taking her away in hands cuffs and the last words that she heard from her dear friend was
"I'll be waiting. Soon, soon you will be free." she was than taken to a mental institution. She felt like a caged bird that would never be able to sing.
~Fifteen Years later~
Morgan sat on her bed. Today was the day she was finally getting released. The judge felt as she was ready to be released back into society. Morgan brushed out her black hair that went all the way to her mid back and applied the little bit of make up she had. She smiled at her appearance. She had no idea what to expect but she knew it was better than the bitchy nurses, the doctors that would twist her words and having to share a room with people she didn't even know or wanted to get to know.
She was soon walked out by the nurse and she waved to her. Luckily she already had a job and her apartment planned out. It wasn't much but at least it would pay the bills. She was working part time in a small shop in the local mall. She boarded the bus and was off to her new life
Once she arrived to the furnished apartment she feel on the bed and smiled. "Finally, I am free." she said to herself.
The next day started her first day at the shop. Working retail wasn't what she expected and soon she noticed people staring at her and pointing. A few more weeks in people were coming up to her asking if she was the crazy girl that killed her parents and burned down her house. She hated it. She hated everyone knowing her leeched past.
While hanging up new merchandise she saw two girls that she recognized Ashley and Kayla. She couldn't control her legs that were walking in there direction. Soon as they noticed Morgan they looked at each other and faced her. "Hey Ashley and Kayla. How have you both been?" she smiled at them and tried her best to act normal. Ashley was the first to speak up "Yeah not much you know not burning down houses or stabbing people you sick bitch!" Kayla laughed "Yeah everyone in town knows what you did. I think everyone in the whole state even knows what you did. Especially blaming your imaginary friend...Your freaking crazy." They couldn't stop laughing. Morgan than ran out of the department store.
She couldn't take it any longer. All she wanted from the start was a place to belong and a group of people she could acutely call family. She got into the clunker of a car she bought and flew down the road. When all the sudden a song that she connected with all to well came across the radio
I think my friend said "don't forget the video"
I think my friend said "don't forget to smile"
"You're a murder tramp, murder tramp" I think he said
"You're a murder boy, birthday boy" I think I said
I think my friend said "stick it in the back of her head"
I think my friend said "two of them are sisters"
"I am a murder tramp, birthday boy", I think I said
"I'm gonna bash them in, bash them in", I think he said
Morgan couldn't help but to sing along. It brought her back to the time she spent with Laughing Jack. Even with all the medicine, anti depressants, and mood stabilizers they gave her she knew for a fact that her best friend was real.
She soon arrived at the apartment and opened it up. She knew now that she quite her job that she would be screwed. The Lady Mrs. Gretchen was an bitter old lady. But nonetheless she was kinder to her than most were around her shitty town. She was so worried she didn't know what to do.
~ Fast forward one day before till the rent is due~
Morgan was reading stories by Lovecraft to pass the time when she heard the melody of pop goes the weasel. She frowned. "Ohhh now he decides to show up" she marked her place in her book and sat it down on her couch.
Suddenly her old familiar friend was before her. He whistled "Well, well what do we have here. Looks like sweet little Morgan grew some curves." she blushed. "Yeah, I guess. Where have you been!? I have been waiting for you."
Laughing Jack simply shook his head laughing with his hand over his face. "Oh I have been running missions for Slender man, having a couple of kills myself and bothering Jeff..you know the usually. Oh and preparing for a new house guest" Morgan shook her head she wasn't in the mood for games. "What do you mean house guest? Who are you having over and who the hell is Jeff? You know what it doesn't matter"
Laughing Jack chuckled. She has really changed. Of course for being locked up for fifteen years who could blame her not to mention for being the town freak show. So he understood her fowl mood and hoped to change it in time. "Well seeing as your getting kicked out of your apartment and your luck isn't going that well I thought you would like to join me for awhile. Not to mention there is someone very important that has been wanting to meet you for sometime."
" Wait you knew about the apartment, my job and everything" she blushed a deep crimson "What else do you know?"
He let out a loud genuinely laugh "Oh you only wish I would tell you." he winked at her.
She hide into the couch but all joking aside she had a feeling who she knew the person that wanted to meet her. " I am guessing Slender man wants to meet me right?" Morgan gave a worried look up to Laughing Jack. He simply nodded "Yeah he has been interested in making you his proxy since we meet." she sighed and shrugged well it's not like I got anything better to do I suppose. But whats a proxy? What do they do?" Morgan asked.
Laughing jack ran a hand over her smooth face. "All in due time. Now pack your bags we have a carnival to get too.
