The way we were.

"I'm sorry,we can't be together"

He said,no emotion in his voice.

"I'm sorry,what? If I didn't hear any better I thought you said we can't be together" I said,laughing humourlessly.

He scratched his neck and gulped nervously.

"Lai,You heard me right.I can't do long distances."

I shook my head,the words trying to make sense in my head.

"No,no.Don't call me that and that's fine,I wish I never met you anyways,if you ended us like that" I cried,tears streaming down my face.

He sighed quietly.

"Lailah,I-"

"No I get it,you chose fame over me,it's fine.Nice to know I'm not that important" I hissed,turning away and leaving.

2 years later...

"Reece!" I whined.

"Yeah babe?"

He replied,his eyes still glued on the road.

"Please drop me off at Starbucks? my brother's gonna kill me if I don't get his chocolate cake and coffee!"

I begged.

"Fine.But you have to give me a kiss."

He sighed.

I grinned and leaned in,the softness of his lips warming me instantly.

"I LOVE YOU REE!"

I shouted as I shut the car door,running towards the entrance.

"LOVE YOU TOO LAI!"

He screamed back.

I smiled and entered through the clear glass doors.

I gasped at the length of the queue.Groaning,I trudged up to the line.

Whilst waiting,I randomly created a little tune in my head.

'Chocolate-cake 'n' coo-ffee,chocy cake 'n' coo-ffee.....'

"Lai?"

A familiar voice cut through my thoughts.

I turned around and gasped,the nearly forgotten anger returning to my eyes.

"Oh.It's Brad Cooper" I sneered.

"Lai,my god,I missed you so much and...all this time I haven't realised how much I want you back till now"

He rambled,slightly croaking at the end.

"I have a boyfriend,FIY.His name is Reece and he makes me so much happier than you've done."

A determined look swirled in his beautiful blue eyes which I fell for.

"Oh really now? Are you happy? Or is that just what you want to think?"

He asked,stepping so close,that his breath fanned my face.

My eyes shot up to meet his.

"My friend Sophie is a big fan of your boyband,Brad.What's the name? Infinite 5,right? The band that you chose over me." I coldly shot back,trailing my tongue over my dry lips.

A low growl came from him as now anger circulated his eyes.

"Actaully,Jordan,Ayden,Lewis and Cole are more worth it than you!" He whispered harshly.

I felt tears prick my eyes.

Ouch.That hurt like a bitch.

"You douche!"

His features softened.

"Lailah,I'm sor-"

"You know what? Fuck you,I'm better without you anyways!"

I harshly hissed.

I turned to the counter and ordered my brothers food,along with my usual 2 brownies and the frothy,sweet cappuccino.

I turned around and headed for the door,when a strong arm grabbed my wrist and turned me around.

"Get off,you asshole!" I cried.

"I'm sorry,okay? Please."

I kicked him where it doesn't shine and ran off,trying not to spill the hot liquid.

I skilfully opened the handle with two fingers and rushed in ,settling the food in the seat behind me.

"Hey.What took so long?"

Reece asked.

"Eh,long queue"

I replied.

He just nodded as we drove through green light,took a right,then a left towards my house.

"Bye Ree,love you!" I said,grinning widely.

"Bye Lai,Iove you too!"

He called as I entered my house.

I rushed upstairs and threw myself on the bed,bored.

After about 5 minutes I decided that I should call Sophie.

"Hey Sophs"

"Hey Lai"

She replied

"So,any party going on tonight or...?"

I asked.

"Yeah,there's a party.You know my cousin James? the one who's in the IT crowd,yeah? Well,he knows this rich guy who's holding a party and I can get us invited!"

"Yeah,that's fine."

"Party starts at 8,I'll come over at 7"

She informed,before hanging up on me.
