1 day before the race the race that determines if I am ready for nationals or not. If I can do this I can do anything I thought to myself...I can take on risks like the tight rope or wipeout or something adventurous or risky.
I decided that it would be a pretty smart and logical idea to go running (1500m to be exact) just to get a little practice before tomorrow...THE BIG DAY!
RING RING RING RING
'Hello?' I swiped my phone, while still running, trying to keep a steady pace even though it's kinda tricky.
'Okay, this is the 3rd time I called you, either your deaf and can't hear your ringtone for your phone, or you need to turn up your VOLUME' as Chris exclaimed.
'Okay sorry, I was running...and I have an excellent speed right now so could you make it fast before I run out of breath' I try to say as quickly and calm as possible, although inside I really just want to hang up the phone and run more because my stomach literally feels like someone is reaching in and twisting it and making me feel so nauseous that I could faint on the ground and get a concussion.
'Oh shit you have a huge competition tomorrow, sorry babe continue. Call me back when you're done.'
Chris is literally the most generous and giving and selfless guy I could ever meet, he's so brilliant I am so lucky.
As I arrive home and try to drink as much water as possible so I don't get dehydrated, I drag my feet along to my room. When I am finally connected to the internet I get a text from my mom 'Honey, stay home. Don't let anyone into the house. By nobody I mean NOBODY! Lock all the doors and just make sure you don't answer any phone calls from anyone. Pretend you are 5, stranger danger.' What the hell? What does she mean? Stranger danger? What is she talking about? I can't breathe and it is not the kind I am used too it's a different feel. My body gets goose bumps all over I run downstairs shut each curtain block every call, even better I turn off my entire phone in general. I am so scared, I bite my lip in a timid way. Whatever this bizarre insane fiasco is, it better be done by tomorrow or else someone is gonna enjoy a but load of pie in their faces.
!BOOM!
I heard a gunshot. Not a bomb not something a little kid is doing to prank his friend, something loud and real. I don't know what to do. So I look outside in my room and then I see a man, in Black...all black he stares right and me and he gave me the look, it gives me the chills. I bite my lip again but this time harder and I stare back at him and he gives me the feel the look that says 'this is war.' I still look at him and I say back in return 'Not without a fight.' But instead of speaking I use my eyebrows and so does he.*WRITERS NOTE*
