It was a hot summer night when it happened. Darkness falling and filling every corner with fear and regret. I don't know when, I don't know how, but what i do know is it happened fast and simple. The darkness

surrounding, this Connecticut house was not just any normal darkness, it was evil to the core. The light may disguise the house's secrets but inside lies a deep dark history and whoever dares to go into the arms of this evil and experience the unthinkable, never lives to tell the story.

"Mom, have you seen my phone?" Victoria screamed out from her room where she was packing her belongings into her suit case.

"It's on the kitchen table honey" Her mother yelled back.

The Jones were a four people family and were moving from Ohio to Connecticut. They had seen a beautiful house that was for rent while they were on vacation over at Grandma and Grandpa's house. So they decided to buy it. It was an old light blue color with the biggest yard and a beautiful waterfall. It was love at first sight but what they didn't realize was that moving there was the biggest mistake of their life.

The car drive was long and Victoria's little brother, Alex, kept getting tense. He would become pale all of a sudden and goosebumps would form all over his arms. "Mom I...I don't think this is a good idea" Alex exclaimed. Their mom calmed him down. As they approached the house a cool breeze filled the air and the sun disappeared, Alex felt uneasy.

As Amanda , their mother , turned the rusty old knob, the tree leaves shuffled. The door was wide open now and inside was a mess. Chairs and tables broken everywhere and in the living room a huge red stain on the carpet that looked to Alex like a blood stain. Amanda shook it off and told him it was paint. Still, Alex had no trust of this house and by the looks of it, the house would not have trust in him.

All the boxes had been moved to the rooms now everyone was unpacking. Alex climbed the stairs towards his new room, each step making that sound of old wood. He now stood on front of the brown door, he turned the knob. Stepping in, he smelled that of a dead rat or wild animal of some sort. There was a bed there, pushed towards the center of the wall, it still wore a tore up blue blanket. Next to the bed stood a closet, its entrance hinged shut. Alex turned around, heading towards the exit. A cold breath struck his neck, he turned around, nothing. With no hesitation, he ran towards the door, leaving the room and whatever was in there alone.

Once again, Alex's parents ignored his calls. Little did they know, that would be a mistake.
