It's been more than five years. I'm married; I have a daughter and have no idea where he is...
We were together in school, in the same class. We knew each other well. I liked him, he liked me too.
I remember we were in tenth grade when he said, "Kriya! We won the 'World Music Competition'." He was happy, so was I ! He gained popularity at the age of sixteen, because of his talent and his skills in singing. He always won the Inter- house vocal competitions, and soon won a 'world competition'. It wasn't a small thing, indeed.
We joined my school and my class, when I was ten. He proposed to me on my sixteenth birthday. He was committed to me completely by the age of eighteen. But things changed when we turned twenty.
He was passionate about singing, so much that he could do anything to become a successful singer. He wanted to be a playback singer.Oh! I still remember that night when he confessed his love to me.....
It was my sixteenth birthday. I was excited as hell. I was young. I was crazy. At around 12:05 a.m. on my special day, I got a text message from Avinaash. Obviously, I was awake. The conversation went as:
Avinaash: Hey! You awake?
Me: yup!
Avinaash: Happy Birthday!! J
Me: Thanks Avi!
Avinaash: I love you!
Me: What?
Yeah, I had a crush on him. I didn't know he more than liked me too.
Avinaash: um...yeah...I love you. Will you be mine forever?
Me: Yes! I will be, forever and ever.
I didn't tell anything about this to my parents. I thought of waiting for the right time.A month later, he told me excitedly that his band had won a 'World Music Competition.' Avi got so busy with it that he didn't talk contact me for a month. So finally, I texted him.
Me; Congrats! I am happy for you.
Avi: Yeah! You should be.
Me: But I missed you L
Avi: Yeah...me too L
Me: So...what next?
Avi: Next month, we'll be going to Lucknow for a concert and then , after my exams, we've been invited to Delhi for a live performance... till now, I know only this much. Will keep updating you.
Me: Umm..that's good, but I was wondering when can we meet?
Avi: Next two months are fully packed . Will be meeting in school but...
Me: School? Can we meet in McDonald's or Starbucks or Domino's or...
Avi: Look, I just told you how busy I am ...
Me: Okay, fine. By the way, how are you going to manage your studies?
Avi: I don't know! Infact, I don't even need to go to school. I'm already earning...!
Me: Don't say that! In future, if anyone asks you that how much have you studied, what will you say?
Avi: Who'll ask me how much have I studied? Well, you don't need algebra for music.
Me: Anyways, eager to see you tomorrow in school!
Avi: I'm busy, I'll talk to you later. Bye, goodnight.
Me: Good night. Sleep well JAs I assumed, we didn't talk for two months; he did not have time at all. He hadn't done great in his exams, but he was happy that he got more than passing marks. We barely talked in school, and whenever we did, I only heard about his concerts and shows, etc. My friends asked me," Are you still his girlfriend? Are you sure he hasn't forgotten you?"
Two years passed by, then I decided to tell my parents everything about Avinaash. I told them that he had proposed to me a few days back and we were deeply in love. All my parents said was that it was too early to decide who your life partner would be. Mom said me, "Don't be committed to anybody so early."
I understood their concern but I felt I knew him well and we loved each other a lot. My parents should have no problem. He was a talented good looking boy and had no bad habits. He was perfect for me, I thought.
Next day, I texted him.
Me: Hey love! You know what, I told my parents about us.
He replied after two hours...
Avi: What did they say?
Me: They said it's too early, nothing much.
Avi: Okay
Me: When are you going to talk?
Avi: Soon. I'm busy these days.
Me: Where are you?
Avi: In the train, Coming back from Rajasthan.
Me: How was the show? After a long time, right ?
Avi: Yeah. I hadn't performed since the past eight months.
Me; How was the show, but?
Avi: Pathetic. Look, I'm not in a mood to talk right now. Text you later.
Me: Bye baby! Take care.
He didn't contact me for two months.
