Chapter 8

Aqua's POV

The summer was going great. Paige was being suspicious around my boyfriend, maybe she was just being friendly but she was acting too friendly. She was even sticking onto Xavier like she was the glue and he was the paper. I jumped off my bed and took a bath. I put on a yellow shorts and a red strapless blouse. I catch up my hair and curled the end. I walked down stairs and began to make breakfast since I was the only one up. I made chicken nuggets burgers with cheese, hot cocoa and I added an apple and a few grapes in a small dish. I began to set the table when Xavier came down. "Hey honey", he said kissing me on my lips, I returned the kiss enjoying every bit of it. I pulled away to take a breath then continued kissing him. "Hello", I heard a voice say. I pulled away frightened but it was just Paige, annoying Paige. "Good morning", I said nicely and we all went to the table to eat. Paige always tried to spoil my sweet moments with Xavier. She always barged in.

Paige's POV

"This is delicious, I never know that u could cook like this", I said insulting Aqua. "Don't judge a book by its cover", Aqua replied kissing Xavier's cheek. I thought she would start to cuss me but she didn't. I wanted her to cuss me so that I would fight her then maybe kiss Xavier when she was crying or something but it didn't work. Xavier and I were getting really close through the summer. I hope that he would find me in his heart and leave Aqua stranded.

Aqua's POV

"I bought a movie today", Xavier said as he walked in. "What's that", I asked looking at him. "Mermaids part 1 to 9", he replied, "I was walking pass a place and the seller said that girls love mermaid movies so I decided to buy it", he finished. My heart shook a bit as I heard the word mermaid. I was a mermaid. "I hate mermaids", Paige said as Xavier put it in the dvd player. "Mermaids aren't even real", Xavier said and laughed at Paige as the movie began. "Yes they are!" Paige shouted with a hint of sadness in her voice. "When I was about 10 years old, I was swimming in the sea. I had a water gun in my hands and I was playing with the fishes then I saw two mermaids. I was excited to see one so I swam up to it and the one with the blue tail held my hair and dragged me down. I punched her and she used her tail and hit me in my face and the other mermaid used a stone and hit me then they both swam away. I was scared so I swam up to shore." , Paige said. My heart jerked. I was the blue tail mermaid who dragged her down. I thought that she was coming to kill us with the gun so I got angry and dragged her down. "Wow!" Xavier exclaimed at Paige's story while I sighed. I couldn't say anything.

"OH MY GOD!" Paige shouted while watching the movie. "What?" I asked. "If I had known that mermaids could grant wishes I would ask the mermaids to grant me a wish when I met them", Paige replied. The mermaids in the movie had granted a wish that's why she said that and it was indeed true. Mermaids could grant one wish for any person. "I wished that I could get some lost treasures", Paige said when she saw the man in the movie grant a wish. I ran up to my room as soon as I heard that.

Paige just made a wish and I had to grant it. I couldn't believe it. If I did maybe she would find out that I was a mermaid. I dialed Amanda's number. She would always help me when i'm in trouble. "Heya", she said as she answered the phone. "What's up girl?" I asked her. "Everything is great, I'm enjoying my summer. Are you enjoying yours?" She answered then asked a question. "Well it's great, I found a map to rescue my dad but Auntie Bubbles is busy so we can't go and save him but Paige just made a wish and I have to grant it. She doesn't know that i'm a mermaid but she made a wish and she was the girl I grabbed in the water when I was ten", I told her. "Really?!" She asked nearly shouting. "YES!" I shouted back. "What i'm I going to do I asked her?". "I'm so sorry but I really don't know, you have to grant the wish and there's nothing we can do", she said sadly. "Ok thanks tho", I said. "Wait!" Amanda shouted. "Maybe you can just put it in her room unexpected", she replied. "Ok then", I said. "Bye. Tell mom hi", I told her. "Ok and tell Xavier hi too", she said and hang up the phone. I laid on my bed and cried.
