I had always been a simple man with a simple life right up until i moved to the small and dark town of Elasia. The name makes it sound mystical but it wasn't. It was located in the forests and had a strong smell of smoke that never seemed to fade. I'd say it was a beautiful place if it were brighter but instead it was dark and dreary. The people were no better, they each had a unique smell that wasn't the most pleasant and led very dull and unfulfilled lives.

I now stood out the front of my new school. My mother kissed my cheek and told me to have a fantastic day, she was always so cheery even in the darkest of time. My dad slapped me gently on the back and gave me a nod, that was his way of saying goodbye. I nodded back and smiled at mom then walked into the school. It had that strong smell of smoke like the rest of the town and with the damp ground it felt like i was walking in a watered out fire.

I went straight to the main office to get my scheduled and locker number. The receptionist had a plain expression and a blank voice. I went to my locker and put my bag in there then walked to English. Unlike the rest of the town the class was energetic and loud. I could feel a headache coming along but sat down in the midst of the chaos. The teacher seemed calm as the older man read the newspaper.

People around me buzzed with energy then i was tapped on the shoulder. I turned around to face a girl with bouncy blonde hair and electric blue eyes.

"Hi there! you new around here?" she asked in a high pitched voice, i smiled politely the replied

"Yes, I am. I take it your not" she girl laughed a high pitched giggle

"Born and raised here, Im Macey Bennet" she introduced herself and i turned to face her better

"Nice to meet you Macey Bennet, I'm Lance" i said with a smile

"Oh lance! what a noble name" someone said from behind me, i quickly turned to see a guy around my age with thick brownish glasses that matched his mop hair and dark eyes. He had a small smirk on his face which i just shrugged off with a smile

"What can i say, my mother loved Sir Lancelot" i said to the guy

"Well i love a guy who knows his tales* another voice spoke, i turned again to see a girl with long black hair looking at me with dark eyes that matched the boys. she was playing with her pencil and had an identical smirk to the guys

"Ignore her, she's flirty." Macey said with a slightly laugh

"You call that flirty? you clearly haven't met Californian girls" i said earning another laugh

"You from Cali huh? that explains the blue eyes and tanned skin, tell me are you the hot surfer boy from my dreams?" the girl said, her smirk growing with every word

"Please excuse my sister, she has no shame... or boundaries" the glassed guy from before said then added quickly "I'm Alec Monroe, and that's my sister Amber" as he spoke amber winked at me and i just chuckled. I was used to being flirted with, almost every girl in my home town attempted to 'get with me' but i never made it easy. more like impossible.

I looked around the class and saw it had been divided into unspoken groups, there were 5 girls in the corner each with a different hair color "who are they, well who's anyone in this class" i asked Macey, she seemed like the kind of girl everyone knew and liked

"Well lets see you've got the Drama Queens, they love to stick out and be different and rule the school of course, the one with blue hair is Lana, purple is London, white is Celeste, red is Avery and the last one with the pinkish hair is Beth. Avery is nice but the rest are your typical 'queen bee's" Macey begun pointing each girl out then moved to a group of guys.
