Chapter ten

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. I let out a yawn as I stretched over to the side table and grabbed my phone.

"Hello." I mumbled, still half asleep as I answered the phone.

"Hey, how are you?" A deep voice spoke from the other end of the call.

"Oh hi Brendon. I'm fine thanks, how are you?

"I'm good, I rang to ask how's your art work going?"

"So far it's going great."

"Well if you need anything, ask me."

"Will do, thanks."

"Also how are things with Toni?"

"Good but obviously it's not the same as it was a couple of months ago."

"At least he's being more humane now."

"Um yeah."

"Shouldn't you be at work?" Brendon asked.

"Wait what?" I looked at the clock on the wall. "Shit, I overslept."
Why didn't Toni wake me up?

"I'm guessing you're late, so I'll talk to you later bye." Brendon laughed.

"Goodbye."

After the phone call, I ran to the bathroom and brushed my teeth then took a quick shower. Then I made my way back to my room and put on a basic outfit consisting of some black skinny pants, a pale shirt tucked in and a black coat over the top. 
After I got ready, I drove to the gallery.

"Hey!" Liz shouted as I entered.

"Hello Lizzy." I shouted back.

"Come look at some of the new pieces." Liz pointed at some canvas' near her.

I walked up to her and looked at the new work in. A few moments later Liz spoke "so on Friday, theres this huge party happening, please come." Liz grinned.

"Urm you know I'm not the type to go to parties and.."

"You could bring Toni along." Liz interrupted.

"Hm okay but I'll speak to him first and I'll let you know."

After many hours of working at the gallery, I made my way to my car then drove home. It was after six in the evening but Toni wasn't at home yet, so I called him but he didn't answer. A few minutes later I called him again and he finally answered.

"What?" Toni snapped, there were loud background noises muddled together, music playing and people talking.

"I was just wondering why you're not home yet, sorry if I disturbed you."

Toni hung up on me, what was wrong with him?

I spent the next few hours on some art work, I tried to concentrate without thinking about Toni but my mind was too busy wandering in thoughts.

I decided to take a break from some work, so I sat down on the couch and turned on the tv when my phone rang, it was my father.

"Hello love, have you forgotten about your old man?" My father spoke in a soothing tone, hearing his voice made me feel a lot better.

"Hi pai, there's no way I could forget you, sorry I haven't called in ages, I've just been kind of busy with work and stuff."

"It's okay, so how have you been?"

"I'm okay I guess but I miss you a lot."

"I miss you too, you should come visit sometime, it's been along time since I saw my little baby."

"I'll try to make a visit sometime soon, so how are you?"

"I'm going well so far which is good. How's the lad Toni?"

"He's good."

"I hope he treats my baby well."

"Yeah he does."

"Well I've got to go now, make sure you call me soon!"

"Tchau, I love you."

"Bye bye, I love you too."

After I had done talking to my dad, I felt calmer yet more upset. I felt as if I shouldn't have left him but then again I left with Toni, thinking that I'll settle down happily with him after he got job here.

As it was quite late, I began walking towards the stairs to get to bed. Even though Toni wasn't home yet. As I approached the hallway the front door flew open revealing a very drunk looking clumsy Toni. For some reason when I saw him drunk I felt slightly scared.

"Hello A." Toni said as he almost tripped over trying to lock the door.

"Hi, urm where did you go?"

"Ergh don't ask questions, you no how annoying you are when you ask me questions." Toni shouted then began clumsily walking towards me.

For some reason I moved back but Toni put his arm around me "don't be scared of me, stop moving away. I'm sorry I came home late, I went to the bar."

"Oh-kay." I mumbled.

"Come on beautiful, lets get you to bed." Toni grabbed my hand and began walking.

As we arrived in our room, Toni instantly collapsed on the edge of our bed and let out a few loud breaths. I moved him up slightly, took off his shoes then pulled the duvet cover up onto him. I then put on my sleepwear and got into the other side. After a while of over-thinking, I welcomed sleep upon me.

I woke up the next morning to the sound of my alarm, I turned it off and looked at Toni who was laying on his side, he groaned then got up.

"I'm sorry about last night, I was just a bit stressed out from work so I decided to go out with a few friends."

"It's okay, but you shouldn't drive, whilst being drunk. It's dangerous."

"Uh huh, I won't drunk drive ever again." Toni groaned again then put his hand on to his head.

"Need some medicine?" I asked.

"Yeah, please."

I gave Toni some medicine to help his hangover then spoke "yesterday Liz asked me to come to a party on Friday, she said you should come too.."

"No."

"What, why?"

"I'm not going, I'm busy on Friday but you can go."

"No I don't want to go without you."

"You're going and that's it, you need to give time to your friends sometimes."

"Erm I, well okay then."

It's not very good, I know but it's because of major writers block, however I promise I'll try and make the next chapters slightly less boring.
