Chapter One.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Bee-

I slammed the snooze button and looked at the time. Why did Stiles want to start practicing at 5 in the morning? My door swung open and in walked Stiles. "Come on Bryce. Get up." He said, jumping on my bed. Groaning, I rolled out of bed.

"Close your eyes." I told him. He did as I said and I took off my shirt and put on a black sports bra and stripped my pajama shorts off and put on my workout ones. "Open."

"So, Scott's meeting us at the trail." He said, standing up. I gave him a questioning look and he sighed.

"We are going to run for 2 hours and then start practising." He said and I groaned. "Come on Bry. Cheer up." He said as I slipped my running shoes on and grabbed my lacrosse gear. Running downstairs, I grabbed a granola bar and my water bottle.

"Let's go." I said. I looked up at my house then over at Stiles'. When I moved here at the beginning of the summer, I mostly stayed in my yard. How I met Stiles is when I accidentally threw a lacrosse ball and it hit his jeep as he was getting out. I smiled at the memory because him and Scott came over and were shocked that I was a girl. I threw my hair up into a messy bun and hopped into his jeep.

"So, nervous about school tomorrow?" He asked and I nodded. "Ya know, I'm happy you are trying out with us. We could use you on our team."

"Thanks. Lacrosse and cross country are my two favorite sports." I said and he laughed. We arrived at the trail and I hopped out. Stretching, I made my way over to Scott.

"Morning sunshine." He said and I flipped him off. He laughed and I rolled my eyes. "Someone's not a morning person."

"Would you be? I went to bed at 3 in the morning!" I stated, finishing up my stretches.

"Why so late?" Stiles asked. I just looked down and away.

"It was strange. I was in the woods running last night like always when I heard a wolf." I said. The looks on their faces showed shock.

"Bry, there aren't wolves in Beacon Hills." Stiles said. I looked at him confused.

"That's not true. I heard one last night and it sounded huge." I explained. "Anyway, we should start running." They nodded in agreement. We took off and all I could think about was the wolf.

Once we made it back to Stiles' jeep I chugged my bottle of water. Scott and Stiles followed suit and I grabbed my inhaler from my bra. After two puffs, I felt better.  Scott did something similar and I smiled at both of them. "So, now we practice?" I asked and Stiles nodded. We hopped up into his jeep and made our way to the field. I twirled my stick and went to go refill my bottle. I heard a rustling in the woods and looked up. I swore I saw red eyes staring at me and I shook my head. I ran back to the boys as Scott took the goalie's place.

"So, we take turns and after this, we go our separate ways." Stiles said and I nodded. I had to work with Scott tonight.  Bleh.

"Hey, can you guys close after you clean up?" Deacon asked and we nodded. "Thanks. Good night." He said and we waved.

"I'm going to go over to your house for a bit before I go home." I told Scott and he nodded. We finished cleaning and started walking to his house. It was about 10:30 PM when we got to his house. I flopped down on his bed and yawned. "So much I have done on 2 hours of sleep."
