I'm free! I'm finally out of the house and away from Vince! My brother and bestest friend are beside me and I'm feeling amazi-

Buzz.

"Hello?" I spoke into the phone.

"Hey, how are you?" Vince wondered. I sighed and glanced behind me at the black SUV holding Vince. Guess I'm not so free after all...

"Okay."

"Just okay? Nothing else? Are you sure?" I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, Vince. I'm okay. Is that all?"

"Well, I also wanted to add that we'll be at the airport in five minutes so..." I sighed...again.

"Okay, thanks."

"Bye."

"Bye." I hung up. Can't I just forget about him for one moment?

"Are you okay?" Bryce, concerned, asked.

"Yeah. Vince said we're almost there." My brother nodded and put his arm around my shoulders.

"I'm here now, so things will get better. I swear." He comforted.

"This is so unfair! You two get to stay here in California while I have to go back to plain ole Miami." Penny complained.

"First of all, Miami isn't even in the slightest boring. Second of all, you're eighteen. You can move away and take that apartment Vince was offering." I told her.

"Yeah, but I actually want to finish my year off back home. School year's almost over, Eris. I really don't feel like switching schools. I'm not dropping out either because that's what most of my family did and I won't be like them. I'll graduate, get my diploma, and go to college." She's got it all figured out, huh?

"So..."

"So, I guess I'm not staying. Maybe after high school. I mean, who knows, I might actually end up coming here. I applied for UCLA."

I arched a brow. "You did? That's a pretty good school." She smiled and nodded.

"I know." I returned Penny's grin and then the truck came to a stop.

"We've arrived." Bryce said and opened his door. We all hopped out and looked up at a huge jet.

"This, is my private jet!" Vince proudly shouted from behind us. He walked past me and Penny followed him onto the aircraft.

"Damn rich people." Muttered Bryce. I chuckled and yanked him along onto the mini plane.

Inside, it was slightly more spacious than an actual plane-quite similar to first class but with better lighting, tables, and classier flooring.

"Woah." Penny and I awed in unison.

"You like?"

"I like." I said, jaw unhinged.

"Great, then take a seat and enjoy yourself." I smiled and hopped into a cozy chair, snuggling in.

Now this, was luxurious. Penny sat down next to me and closed her eyes. "I could stay like this forever."

"I agree."

"You two are such idiots." We both peeked up from one eye to look at Bryce. He stood with his arms crossed and an eyebrow arched.

"And why is that, brother dear?"

"Because he just wants you to feel comfortable with this life so you'll never want to leave."
