I can't believe that bastard did this to me, just disappearing suddenly and having me take over the kingdom. Well, at least I can get away with more of my experiments than before as long as I have willing volunteers from the town. Since the servants have noticed others disappearing they've grown suspicious so I can't use them anymore which is disappointing.

"My lord?" I hear a knock on the door and sigh. "Your meal is ready, would you like me to bring it to you or would you like me to leave it here?"

"Leave it there, I'll be there to fetch it in a minute," I respond, running a hand through my hair as I look around my room with disinterest.

"Yes sir," the maid says before I hear her footsteps fade down the hallway.

I stand and set down my journal of my past experiments gently on my desk, slightly frowning as I notice new bloodstains. "Well, I guess I'll need a new notebook after today," I sigh and walk across the room to the door, opening it and pulling the cart inside to settle down for my meal.

After around half an hour I hear a servant rolling the cart I had placed back outside to the kitchen. "It's almost time for the coronation," I mutter, "It's not like I ever wanted to be king of this damned country."

I stand and stretch, taking my journal to the shelf I had filled in the past nine years with other bloodstained volumes similar to the one I had just placed on the shelf. "Time for practice," I smirk and walk out of my room, locking it before going to the training field to check on the guards and spar with a select few.

"My prince, " I hear Bepo, the head gaurd, call out to me and I look over towards him with a slight smile. "What brings you here today?"

"I figured we could spar in hand-to-hand combat if you were free," I respond, noticing how his snow white hair was dusty which means that he was probably taking a break from training or had just finished sparring.

"I just finished training some of the new recruits so I'm free," he smiles brightly, causing me to chuckle softly.

"Then let's start," I walk to the center of the field where a free area was and get into an offensive stance, Bepo copying the stance but tensing up while waiting for me to make the first move.

"My prince, I won't hold back," he warns, tensing his legs while getting ready to attack.

"I wouldn't expect you to," I relax my stance as he runs forward, leaning to the left to dodge his punch and dropping to the ground before sweeping my leg under his and knocking him to the ground. He grunts as I sigh. "Bepo, you held back, otherwise i wouldn't have won that quickly."

"I'm sorry," he pouts, standing up and dusting himself off.

I yawn, "Well, I'll see you around Bepo." I start to walk towards the door opposite of where I came out, intending to go to the library.

"My lord!" I hear a feminine voice and sigh, wondering what the maid wanted. "We have your clothes that were sent to the tailor back, where would you like them?"

I sigh. "Just leave them in front of my door, I'll take them inside once I return from the library," I say before continuing on my way, reaching my destination quickly and going to a few specific shelves and taking one book from each of them. "I should stop by the greenhouse as well to get the plants I need," I mutter to myself and scan through the books, taking in the poisonous plants and their antidotes.

Well, building up an immunity to poisons can wait until tomorrow. Right now, I need to get ready for the coronation tomorrow. At least I get to keep my room, although I'll probably need a better lock. The current one could be picked by any thief who decides to walk in and travel through the castle. I'll also need to add herbalists and retrain doctors with the knowledge I have gained.

I stop in front of my door and unlock it, picking up the package in front of the door and bringing it inside. The package rattles some and I frown.

"I requested they remove those impractical chains," I mutter with a sigh. "Well, it's too late to take it back now."

I light a candle and sit down with the books I brought with me from the library, reading through all the known poisons and their properties as well as taking notes on which plants could be combined to form even deadlier poisons than the ones that are known to the world.

I look up and out my window to see the moon high in the sky. "I should probably sleep," I mutter, stretching before blowing out my candle and making my way over to my bed. "I'll start testing them tomorrow," I yawn, falling onto my bed.

I'm woken by the light shining on my face and frantic knocking on the door. I sigh tiredly and sit up, realizing what today is. "Well, today is my coronation." I mutter as I get up and put on my usual clothes, deciding against the formal clothes.

"My lord! Please hurry, it's almost time for your coronation!" I hear the maid yell through the door. I leisurely walk over and open it, combing my fingers through my hair and locking the door before closing it.

"I'll go myself, go back to your duties, " I wave her away and proceed to the throne room with a sigh.

"Shachi, Penguin, gaurd my chambers," I order them as I pass by the two.

"Yes prince Law," I hear them say in sync before hearing their footsteps retreating down the hall.

I stop in front of the throne room doors, hesitating a minute before stepping inside and going to sit on the throne to wait.
