Ivy
Getting the news that I would be moving didn't bother me. Only because it was basically days before it being summer, so I could still get a feel of moving to Virginia.
My grandmother thought it would be best if I lived with my sister while we were both on summer vacation. I haven't really seen my sister ever since she went off to college and I really don't care for her. She was so stuck up and always acted as if we didn't come from the same pussy and neighborhood.
We would both be in our senior years of school and then would be on our way. I don't really know how granny got the house me and my sister, Latrice would be staying in. All I know is granny begged her to stay with me, scared I didn't know how to live in a big house by myself. Regardless if I'll be eighteen in a couple of months.
"You excited about moving?" Granny asked sitting at the kitchen table as I studied for my last exam.
"Yeah kinda granny, but then again nah. I'm not the type to meet new people and you know that." I said trying not to roll my eyes, not wanting to hear the "Chy, you roll ya eyes again and I'll slap em out ya head," speech she always use to give Latrice when she was still here.
"Yeah I know, that's exactly why I waited now for you two to move in together." She said in her strong Harlem accent." I laughed and shook my head going over this math shit. Swear this was one thing I could not stand. Find x of y my ass.
"Out of all people Latrice though. I mean why not just send me off with a puppet?" I said out of annoyance. My sister was just one of those people who get on my damn nerves.
"Girl what I tell you bout making fun of ya sister" she chuckled tapping me on the shoulder. My grandmother resembled the grandmother in You Got Served. Just a little shorter.

It was early Thursday morning and we almost there. Hampton Virginia being there might I add. I remember granny telling me I had a few relatives here on my dads side, but she never said what they were.
"In about another hour and a half and we'll be there. Granny said as we pulled onto yet another highway. I looked at the sigh and it read "Norfolk"
"Bout time. My butt is killing me." I dragged out laughing causing Grams to chuckle.
We soon pulled up to an apartment complex that I didn't catch the name of. We drive down and I looked at all the nice sized apartments, and it even had a pool.
Now I must not get out a lot because I've never seen an apartment complex with a pool.
"Granny I thought you said we was gone be in a house." I said raising an eyebrow as we parked. She sighed before turning the car off.
"Ya sister just insisted y'all get a apartment that was closer to her campus. Know how she is." She rolled her eyes before opening her door. I shook my head and got out looking around. It was about three in the afternoon so I knew nobody was gonna be around.
"Well let's go on in." Grams said making her way up the stairs. The moving guys followed us after getting my things out the truck. The apartment was a 2 bedroom with a huge living room, and two big other rooms with a nice size bathroom. Even had a little balcony which was nice.
After the moving guys sat everything up in my room how I wanted it, then placing Lattice's things in her room they left. She didn't want anybody to touch her stuff. As if somebody wanted to.
I began to unbox my clothes and personal items while grandma was on the phone tryna find out where my sister was.
"She should be here in a few. But I'm gonna make my way back home. Tell ya sister I love her." She said pulling me into a hug. I looked at her strangely.
