"Hey honey. How are you feeling?" Luke asked, handing over a mug of coffee to me. He stood in front of the table where I was sitting in the kitchen, his eyes never leaving mine as he took a sip of his own coffee.
"I'm feeling normal. Why?"
"I just noticed you've been sleeping practically everyday, besides when you're at work, for the past week or so. You barely eat anymore."
I told you he'd notice you've been taking them sleeping pills. Can't always sleep to get rid of me.
I took an unnecessary long blink before answering Luke.
"I've just been tired, that's all."
He raised an eyebrow at me, signaling that he knew I was lying to him.
"What's seriously going on?"
Oh nothing. Besides me just talking to you every moment possible.
"Nothing. I'm fine. How about we go out for brunch? My treat," I said with a forced smile.
He frowned but took the offer, knowing if he didn't, I'd most likely be asleep for the rest of this Saturday.
"I'll just skip on some sneakers and I'll be ready," he commented, walking away.
"Bring a pair of my sneakers back out for me too."
He was in sweats and a tee while I was in shorts and a tee. Good enough to go in public in.
He came back out and handed me my shoes before slipping on his own. He headed to the door and I followed after finishing tying my shoes, grabbing the car keys that dangled from a hook.
"Where do you want to go?"
"IHOP?" I asked.
He nodded his head and jogged down the stairs of the apartment, since we were on the third floor. I followed behind his steps and got into the driver side of the car, starting the ignition.
Are you going to be a good girl and wreck the car? Can make it seem as if you lost control by accident. Or maybe you can run a red light, so the passenger side of the car gets the most impact. Or maybe you could-
"How about you drive? I'm still a bit tired," I lied, not bothering to make eye contact with him as I forced myself out of the car.
He gave me a look as he passed me but I kept my eyes towards the ground. Getting into the passenger side of the car, I strapped in my seatbelt at the same time Luke did. He reversed out of the parking space and started making his way to IHOP.
You could take the wheel while he's driving. Steer the car off the road. It'd be obvious it wasn't an accident but-
I placed my hands underneath my thighs to keep myself from doing something I didn't want to do.
"So what are you going to order, since we've both been there several times."
"Breakfast sampler," I answered, gazing out the window.
"What to drink?"
I shrugged and saw from the corner of my eye he kept looking in my direction, seconds at a time.
"What are you going to get?"
"The steak and cheese omelet, extra mushrooms."
"Ew. Mushrooms," I commented, scrunching up my face and looking in his direction.
He laughed and a smile broke out on my face, my body relaxing a bit.
He parked in one of the many spots that were available and hopped out the car. I got out and followed him, walking in the front door that he was holding open.
