Prologue
How they meetMarina's POV
Strolling into my local coffee shop, I sighed deeply. Another tiresome day of being lectured about something that interested me, but didn't process through my brain.
"What can I get you?" A warm voice asked.
"I'd like a large cappuccino please." I ordered.
The lady nodded and proceeded taking other orders.
University lectures left my 18 year old self mentally and physically tired. Everyday, the continuous yapping of the same lecturer made me want to strangle her until she could never give another lecture to anyone ever again.
"Order 420!" The lady yelled.
Sighing as I placed my hand upon my extremely hot beverage, another hand grasped my coffee. I could feel my very own cappuccino wallow in sadness as it was released from my grasp. My eyes quickly glanced over to an extraordinarily good-looking girl.
Her gorgeous grey eyes reflected into mine, as if she was staring into my soul. Her olive skin fit perfectly with her facial features. Her caramel coloured hair flowed gently to her stomach which ended in an abundance of curls. My dilated emerald eyes were in a daze, studying the features of her face.
She noticed me staring.
Her eyes widened as her cheeks burst into a deep red, while putting tomatoes to shame.
I placed my right hand on my forehead in shyness.
"Um, I don't mean to be rude but, my cappuccino that you have in your hand is crying ." I announced.
Her hair glistened as her mouth began to move. The sound of her laugh could light up the whole world.
That jawline could make anyone moan unknowingly.
"Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry! You must be...:" She trailed on, looking for my name on the Gloria Jeans coffee cup. "Marina! Nice to meet you."
"How can you be so calm about this?" I asked, tiredly.
"Well, I whenever I try to be mean to people, it never works." She sighed. "Anyway, I'm sorry about the coffee." She stated, once again.
"No, no, it's fine." I say, grabbing my coffee whilst in the process of taking in deep breaths.
Man, this girl is so gorgeous that if she asked me out, I would turn lesbian in a heartbeat.
"Order 421!" A deep, yet concerned voice interrupted my twisted thoughts.
She walked over and collected her coffee, at the same time, thanking the exceptionally hot barista. He willingly proceeded to hand over the freshly made coffee whilst giving her a warm smile which caused her to blush.
There goes my lesbian fantasy.
"Once again, I am extremely sorry." She apologised for the 100th time.
"It's okay..." I trailed. "I didn't quite catch your name."
"Oh, my mistake. My name is Mariella." The warmth from her voice sent shivers down my spine. "Would you care to sit with me?" She asked while raising her eyebrows, which clearly showed uncertainty.
