About ten minutes later we were on a almost deserted road with trees all along the side of the road and a beautiful blue lake came into veiw.
"I've lived here forever and I never knew this existed!" I told Luke in awe as I stared out the window watching as the sun still hung in the sky with the yellow rays about to start sunset.
Luke just chuckled at me and Kept driving.
"Just to be sure, you aren't kidnapping me right?"
"Oh my God, no I'm not," Luke declared with an eye roll.
"Okay I was just checking," I say shrugging it off. "But are you sure you aren't just saying that and you actually are kidnapping me but you don't want me t-"
"For fucks sake, do you want me to turn the car around and take you home?" Luke replied agitated.
"No! Nope it's all good here," I say relaxing in my seat to try and appear relaxed and cool, most likely failing miserably.
Luke let out an exasperated sigh and ran a hand through his extremely tall blonde quiff.
"Well we are almost there so you don't need to relax so much, or whatever you're trying to do right now," Luke said glancing at me and taking his lip ring between his teeth trying to hide the smile tugging at his lips.
I reach over and lightly smack his arm jokingly causing him to slightly jump from surprise. I laugh as he tried to fix his demeanor and fixed his grip on the steering wheel.
"Michael is right, you are annoying," Luke joked as we turned down an even smaller road and continued driving.
"I think that's just a matter of opinions," I say as I cross my arms and lean back into the seat.
Luke ignored my previous statement and starting humming to Remembering Sunday that was currently spilling through the speakers surrounding us.
"And we're here," Luke said snapping me out of my daze as he put the car in park and slapped his hands on his knees waiting for me.
I look around the place where Luke had parked and found a cute cafe that had a sign in the corner mentioning they also sold ice cream.
"Ice cream?" I question with my eyebrows furrowed.
"And coffee," he said extending his arm and gesturing to the obvious sign hanging at the front of the store.
"Works for me," I shrug as unbuckle my seatbelt and grasp my hand on the handle of the door causing Luke to follow suit.
Luke somehow managed to walk ahead of me as we stepped foot on the several wooden stairs that led to the door of the shop, as he opened it for me.
I thanked him and walked in with him following and walking up next to me. There were two or three tables filled with couples or small families either enjoying a late afternoon coffee and deli sandwich or parents with their small children indulging in the frozen treat.
I turn my attention back to the menu written in chalk on a large blackboard behind the register.
"What are you getting?" I lean towards Luke to ask.
