"Love me when I least deserve it, for that is when I truly need it." - Swedish Proverb

"You know, I've never met a pair of eyebrows I couldn't fleek-ify." Ellie assured me as she held her tweezers frighteningly close to my eyeballs.
We were currently sat in our shanty dorm room which was decorated in shades of purple and blue, my roommate Ellie convinced that the most important thing for her to be doing on a Friday night was fixing my eyebrows.
I dodged her tweezing hand as it swiped towards my face, unable to stop my natural blinking reflex.
"Just how many times have you actually shaped someone's eyebrows?" I asked dubiously as my hands gripped onto my thighs.
This was a terrible, terrible idea. Ellie with sharp objects was like me and my mother-- the two didn't work well together.
"Oh would you just shut up?" Ellie rolled her eyes and practically climbed onto my lap, pinning down my arms with her knees in order to stop me from escaping. "Do you want to have eyebrows on fleek or caterpillars when you see Noah tonight, huh?"
Ellie shot me a pointed look, and I sighed in defeat.
"We've been together five months and my 'caterpillars' never bothered him before." I muttered grumpily, provoking a smirk from Ellie. I sat silently, yet screaming on the inside, as Ellie got to work on my brows.
Dear Lord, I know I haven't always been a good person and I'm sorry about that time I watched Sabrina Wells almost eat tarantula legs and I didn't try to stop her. Just please, let my brows make it out of this alive and I promise to be a better person and to always tell people when they're about to eat spider legs. Thanks.
P.S oh and I'm also sorry about that time I gave Noah laxatives in his protein shake. In my defence, he put watered down cottage cheese in my toothpaste tube so he kinda deserved it.
"All done!" Ellie squealed, clapping her hands together excitedly as she spun my chair around to face the mirror we had hung on the wall.
"So, what do you think?" She grinned, and I examined my brows closely, giving her an approving nod.
"Hey they actually look good! Thanks Ellie."
Ellie stuck her lip out and pouted. "Don't sound so surprised."
I chuckled and manoeuvred my way around the dorm room, picking out accessories and makeup to match my casual jeans and biker jacket look.
Tonight was the first time in a week that Noah was able to get time off from practice to come see me. A lot of the time I caught the bus to see him, but by the time I got there and the time he'd finished practice, it was almost always too late to do anything other than lay on his bed and watch Netflix. Don't get me wrong, that was nice and all, but when his roommate Wren was about three feet away on his own bed watching Netflix with us... let's just say that the privacy of a night out away from people we knew was something I was looking forward to a lot.
A sharp knock at the door woke me from my daydream and I could hardly contain my grin as I bounded over. I pulled the door open, almost knocking myself out in the process, and threw myself into Noah's waiting arms.
I felt him chuckle beneath me and I leaned away only so that I could press my lips to his. His warm hands stroked my cheeks gently and I melted into him, turning into a puddle of goop at his feet.
"Mmm, cottage cheese." He murmured against my lips, making me want to laugh and roll my eyes at once.
A throat cleared behind us and I gave Noah one last peck before untangling myself from him and turning towards Ellie, who was staring at us with huge dark eyes.
"Ellie, this is Noah. Noah, this is my roommate Ellie." I beamed, and Noah smiled warmly.
He held his hand out for her to shake and she narrowed her eyes a fraction. "Wait, you're Noah?" She asked incredulously, taking me aback.
"Wait, you two know each other?" I asked in confusion, my gaze flitting between my boyfriend and roommate. Noah shook his head at me slightly, his eyes wide and alarmed as if he wanted to mouth 'psychopath'.
Ellie bit back a laugh and finally reached out to shake Noah's hand. "Kind of. I dated your best friend, JC."
Hey guys! It's Meg!
If I met you during Cupid's Daughter, welcome back! If you're a new reader, hello!
It feels so good to be writing about Noah and Issy and the gang again, they're like my little kids and I just can't let them go!
Updates should hopefully be every 5-7 days, although no promises as I start University tomorrow and everything will be hectic. I know this chapter is a little short, but I didn't want to make it too long with my author's note at the end. Most chapters will be 1000-2500 words long :)
Thanks for reading! :)
