A Personal Victory Chapter 2
We left early in the morning the next day. I hadn't slept at all the night before, because I was too busy thinking about how to adjust to this sudden move. So, I left my electronics in my suitcase in an attempt to force myself to sleep on the plane ride. Unfortunately, my parents are the type of people that worry about punctuality, so we arrived at the airport four hours before our flight. Security took about half an hour. The idea of waiting another three and a half hours just to get on the plane drove me crazy. In fact, I was tempted to hack into the airports computers and change the flight schedule so that a different plane would take us to LA in half an hour, but decided not to. Instead, I managed to connect a computer to the security system, and brought up the airports x-ray pictures. I could now see every item others were bringing with them into the airport.
I admit watching x-rays of people's bags was extremely boring, but there were no restaurants or shops near our terminal. It was my first time looking at x-rays and I couldn't exactly make out everything that went through the x-ray. At some point, I thought I saw a gun in someone's carry-on bag, but that's not possible. After about three hours of this, I noticed the terminal was fairly crowded, but there seemed to be only a single person my age. She was around five foot eight, had black hair, and was wearing all black. She looked fairly suspicious and was wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap indoors on an extremely cloudy day. I swear, if she had been carrying a bag, I would have accused her of being the person who had attempted bringing a gun (If I had actually seen a gun).
We finally got onto the plane. I was still nervous about whether or not I had seen a gun on the x-ray and couldn't get back to sleep. The first half hour seemed normal, and just as I was starting to get over my fears, it happened. The guy sitting in front of me got up and made it seem as though he had to use the rest room, but instead he made his way to the front of the plane.
Soon after, we heard the struggle between the captain and the man on the plane's intercom. Then, there was a gunshot and the intercom died. The passengers had started to panic, but the flight attendants were attempting to calm them down. I managed to escape and walk towards the front of the plane. I noticed that the girl I viewed as suspicious and another man were also walking towards the front.
I realized that there could be any number of accomplices in this attempt at plane hijacking, and swore I wouldn't trust anyone until the plane was safely in LA. When I finally arrived at the scene of the crime, I noticed that both the pilot and co-pilot where dead with gun wounds, and the attempted criminal was also dead. I quickly grabbed the criminal's gun and pointed it at the two who had joined me, and told them not to make any sudden movements. "I know how to fly an airplane, at least let me take care of that," Said the mysterious girl.
"Fine," I said, "But you will fly to LA, any change in schedule and I'll shoot"
"Oh, she won't be flying to LA," responded the man, "You'll fly to where I want you to fly to, it's lucky someone else that knows how to fly is on this plane, that idiot wasn't supposed to kill both the pilots. Boy, drop the gun, you probably wouldn't shoot me anyway, but just to make sure you don't, I've planted bombs throughout the plane and the second you aim that gun at me is the second you die.
"So, you're the mastermind behind this," I said casually, realizing his accomplice had been poisoned, "but unfortunately for you, I know that there are no bombs in this airplane." I knew this because although I had seen a gun in the x-ray, I had not seen anything that remotely resembled a bomb.
The second I said this, he moved forward and tried to wrestle the gun from my hands. I released my hold on the gun, and he fell backwards, before he had a chance to recover, I kicked him in the head and he was knocked unconscious. I retrieved the gun and made it impossible for anyone to use again, because I had decided that the mysterious girl was on my side. We continued on our way to LA, and major crisis was avoided, I hadn't even had to invoke one of my multiple personalities.
