~Weiss~

I can do this.

I can totally do this.

Crap. I can't do this...

Weiss sighed shakily under her breath as her feet crunched onto the football field.

Neptune was standing just a few yards in front of her, donned in his football gear. The word BEACON was printed in bold across his broad chest, followed by the number 24. She could make out the indent of his six-pack and the ripple of muscle in his shoulders. And his leg game wasn't half bad, either.

Ah, man. I'm staring again. Weiss lifted her chin, trying to look bold and dignified, but the honest truth was that she'd never been more terrified in her life. What would he say? Would he even acknowledge her existence? He never did before.

Weiss forced herself to tap the football player on the shoulder. "N-Neptune?" she stuttered.

He turned around and gave her a friendly smile. "Hey there. ...Weiss, was it?"

Oh my god. He knows my name. "Yes, that's me," she replied hastily after swallowing the knot in her throat.

The heiress was just about to open her mouth again when she heard an excited yelp.

"Neptune!"

She and the blue-haired boy turned in the direction of a cheeky monkey Faunus bouncing up and down like a child.

"Sun!" Neptune grinned and ran over to his friend, leaving Weiss in a state of complete and utter despair.

Neptune scooped up Sun like he was a rag doll. Then they kissed.

Weiss' jaw dropped to the floor. "What?!" she whispered out loud, though none but her could hear.

Neptune perched his boyfriend carefully on his shoulder, where the tan blond seemed perfectly at ease. If Weiss hasn't been so shocked, she would've thought he looked somewhat like a bird.

"Sorry about that. Sunny always likes to make an entrance," Neptune chuckled. "What were you going to say?"

"I...I forgot!" Weiss turned and ran for the hills like a dog with its tail between its legs.

"What was that about?" Sun asked, tilting his head slightly.

Neptune shrugged.

"UuuUUUUUUUuuuuughhh," Ruby sighed loudly.

"Cheer up, sis. It's your first homecoming dance!" Yang chimed, standing beside her. "You're gonna have fun!"

"You mean you're gonna have fun," the brunette mumbled. "I don't like school dances. Plus, how do you walk in these stupid ladies' stilts?" she explained frustratedly, struggling to stay on her feet.

"I just can't believe I get to be a DJ," Yang continued, completely ignoring her younger sister. Her eyes sparkled with excitement.

Ruby sighed again. At least Yang was gonna have fun.

"You know where I'll be," the bouncy blond added with a friendly punch to her sister's shoulder. She pushed her way through the crowd and towards the empty DJ stand.
