Sometimes I like to question all the decisions I've made. What if I hadn't made this friend in the second grade? What if I didn't have that teacher for third grade? You may think that these are small things in the theory of everything, but they do in fact make a big difference eventually.
The Butterfly Effect is the theory that the flap of a butterfly's wings can cause a hurricane. Which is a bit of a metaphor for "the smallest things make the biggest impact".Back to what I said earlier. Those decisions could very well make a big impact. You don't make this friend in the second grade, a lifelong friendship is lost, and certain parts of your life are very different, including who you hang out with.
Or, if you don't have a certain teacher for the third grade? Those existing friendships from the few years past might crumble when you aren't in the same classroom/environment.
You see, The Butterfly Effect is around us every day, we just don't stop to notice. Some examples of The Butterfly Effect could even be tragic. For example, you decide not to stay home one night, and go for a drive. On an icy road, your car spins out of control and crashes, killing you.
I'm not saying every decision we make will turn out in a car crash, or a hurricane. I'm just saying, life is unpredictable. You have the power to steer your life. Just remember, don't let go of the controls.
