"Oh thank God today is the last day of school. I don't think makakayanan ko pa for another day" reklamo ko sa mga kaibigan kong sina Camille, Alex, Lloyd and Sam. We were on our way to the parking lot and we were all excited to go home.

Going home was hell. Traffic. So to anyone who doesn't believe in forever, daan kayo sa EDSA , masasabi niyong may forever. that's why nagdorm ako. I wouldn't want to be late because of traffic eh our house is in Alabang pa naman.

I got home at around 7pm. "Mom? Dad? I'm home" Sinalubong ako ng mom kong napakaganda. It's like she hasn't aged a day. "Mica! Buti naman nakadating ka na. Halika, your dad cooked" my dad cooked? Wow the last time he cooked was 5 years ago. Ano kayang meron for dad to cook? "Anong meron ma?" My mom just smiled and said "you'll find out soon. Halika na" "Hi dad! Wow. Bologna? Fave ko to ah. Welcome home celebration ko ba to? " I joked.

I saw my dad and Nanay Letty, our helper who is practically family. She took care of me since I was a baby.

"Hello nanay! Namiss mo ko? Alam ko oo eh!" We hugged. She was so happy to see me. "Anak tumaba ka. Pero mabuti na yun kasi nag-aalala kami kung nakakakain ka ng tama dun." I was so kilig. I didn't come home for three months dahil masaydong busy eh even Sundays was meant for school works. "Let's eat na ! Nagugutom na ako eh."

Dinner was unusually quiet and I could feel that something is up. "Dad? May gusto ba kayong sabihin? You look like you're going to faint anytime soon. Are you okay?" My parents exchanged glances. Kumbaga parang nagtutulakan kung sino ang magsasabi. My dad had a resigned expression. "You're mom here got promoted."

"Wow ma! Congrats. So magkakabagong kotse na ba ako niyan? " I joked but she did not laugh.

"Ma? Joke lang yun." "I know anak. With the promotion, they're reassigning me to Davao." Nalungkot ako. The farthest we've ever been apart ay yung nag dorm na ako. Davao is way too far.

"That's too far ma. How are we going to see you? "
