So, I'm gonna do a Pokemon Creepypasta and if you want, I'll read it out on my YouTube channel, UmbraTheUmbreon. I'm not very good at these, so please don't be too harsh. Thank you!
Pokemon HauntedGold.
So, one day I was just walking around the city when I came across a sign. It read:
"New Pokemon Gold Remake. Available Today Only. Buy Now At Game."
'Great!' I thought. I've always loved HeartGold so this new remake must be even better. I walked into Game, having saved up some birthday money. Surprisingly, the person in front of me in the queue was RETURNING this remake. I caught a bit of what he was saying.
"No, dude, take it back! That game's too creepy, man." He ran off, leaving the game. I immediately went forward, holding my money.
"Can I buy that please?" I asked, pointing to the game the man had left on the counter. The cashier nodded and handed me the game without me handing over the money. I walked out, perplexed. People are too soft nowadays. I love all creepy, gory things. I've seen gruesome things. I've watched CSI and Criminal Minds. I'm not afraid of a 'creepy' Pokemon game.
I got home and popped the game into my DSlite. The screen showed up. I tapped the touch screen and the DS game panel said 'Pokemon HauntedGold version' and the icon was a Haunter. Cool! Finally, a mature Pokemon game. I tapped the panel and the game loaded up. The animations at the beginning were nothing like HeartGold. There weren't even animations full stop. I pressed start, and the regular Ho-Oh cry came through the speakers. Everything is normal. There was only one option. New Game. Good, I never look at other people's files anyway. I went through all the starting stuff and got to the bit about me. I chose the girl sprite, and she looked pretty cool. She had brown hair that went to her waist and crystal blue eyes. Just like me. Wow, it's like this game was meant for me! I typed in a random name, Mya, and started playing.
I started off in my bedroom. Oddly, there was a door to go outside, along with stairs leading down. I tried going downstairs, but my mum came up and a dialog box appeared.
"I thought I told you that you're not allowed a Pokemon."
My mum left, and I was confused. Well this was.......new. I headed out the door and went onto a balcony. There was a ladder going down, so I went on it. I headed towards what seemed like the lab, and found a boy who looked like one of those Youngsters you fight in the beginning routes. I talked to him, and a dialog box appeared.
"Just choose a Pokemon and get out. If your mum finds out........."
Okay.........that was weird. I looked at the three Pokemon. Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil and Mudkip. New lineup, I guess. I chose Mudkip, and called him Muddy, then a guy walked in. He had red hair and I knew just who he was. Silver. He chose the Bulbasaur then walked out. The Youngster, "Joey" as I'm going to call him, told me to go after the redhead. I did, but slowly, because I didn't have the Running Shoes yet.
After I reached Cherrygrove city, I noticed Silver staring at the ocean. I walked up to him and pressed A. Nothing happened. I noticed a Bulbasaur standing next to him, so I went up to it and pressed A. The dialog box read "Bulba....... This Bulbasaur is sick. Take it with you?" there were two options. Yes or no. I chose yes, because I wanted a second Pokemon. I nicknamed her Mya after my Venasaur on FireRed. Silver turned to face me, then a battle started. Weirdly, the music was that of the rival battle in Black2 and White2. I paid it no mind, and defeated Silver's Rattatta and Sentret easily. Too easily, in fact. I remember Silver being a challenge. Oh, well. I continued on to Route 30.
There weren't any trainers or NPCs on Route 30. Not even Youngster Joey and his top-percentage Rattatta. There wasn't even that weird guy's house, you know, the dude that gives you an Apricorn case? He wasn't there. I went onto the path that led to Mr. Pokemon's house. It wasn't there. All there was was a red sign, that read "Here lies Mouko, brave fire warrior." Ok, that was strange. Mouko was my Cyndaquil, who lost against a wild Pidgey here. It was a Nuzlocke, so that meant she was 'dead.' Why would there be a memorial for her here? I left there, feeling confused, and went the other way, to Violet city.
Nobody was in Violet city. There was only a Pokemon Center. I went in, and saw Nurse Joy on the ground, covered in red splotches. There was a note on her body, saying 'Leave now, Tori, or suffer the same fate.' How the hell did this game know my name? In-game, I was Mya. This made no sense. I walked outside and there was a thunderstorm. What? I didn't know there were thunderstorms in Pokemon? Da fuq? Anyway, I just walked to the gym. I went inside and the gym walls were blood red. There was a guy, sitting on the floor. I knew he was sitting because his sprite had crossed legs. I tried to interact with him, and a battle started. There was no battle music though. Just a lullaby that was blood-curdlingly high pitched. I think it was Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, but it was so slow that I couldn't be sure. What happened next scared me.
The guy's Pokemon, Pidgeot, had no head. I sent out Muddy, who was a Marshtomp at that point, and used Water Gun, knowing Ground moves wouldn't work. There was no animation and the text box read: "Did not affect. Murdered Pidgeot used Kill."
Kill? What kind of sick move was that? For a kid's game? This was wrong. No wonder that dude returned this game. I was still playing, though. Kill made Muddy faint, and I sent out Ziggy, my Linoone. I used Quick Attack to strike first. The Pidgeot fainted, and the battle ended. The screen went white, then I was in the Indigo Plateau. Weird, I didn't even have one badge, let alone eight! I was getting cautious now, but went to the Elite Four.
Silver was the first member. What da fuq? Silver never made the Elite Four! I tried interacting with him, and a dialog box showed up.
"You killed them, Tori. My precious Pokemon. Now, you will suffer the same fate."
Silver walked up to my character, and an animation appeared. Of Silver, holding a knife, killing my character, then my Pokemon. My DS turned off. But, it had full battery? At least I had saved before battling Silver. I turned it back on and went to select the panel, but it said
"The Death Of Tori Williams."
What? How did this game know my last name? I threw my DS across the room. It landed with a crash, the game popping out.
I never recovered from that incident. I returned the game and never left my room afterwards. Eventually, I starved to death, sitting on my bed, muttering "He's coming for me." over and over, until I died. Now, I just hope that no one else plays HauntedGold, because, you will be killed. By a silver-eyed guy out for revenge. Just like in the game. The in-game mum was right. Don't get a Pokemon. Ever.
