Adjusting my new shoes, I headed out the door. Todays the day my boring life would meet the worst day of the year.

To be honest, I'm not in the mood, for this nonsensical movement but this is orders from the most high, the bloody government.

I groaned as I boarded the magno-train, hovering a few centimeters from its magnet track above it. This was the transportation that would take me to that wretched hell. I can feel the physical pain in my soul.

I hate my life. Why can't I just retire already. I mean, I don't think I'm going to have a plan for the future me so why even go to school right? Ugh. But no. I need money to survive in the future.

Therefore; School Application Day. Also known to us as S.A.D

Yep. The day you apply and move to that vile place you spend your last few years of childhood as a minor. All elementary students, age 14, who pass the graduation stage picks an academy they want to study in. That stinking hole where you spent money on unhealthy food. That place where you buy text books so thick they can probably kill someone. Just because they don't want to use electronic books. Wanna guess why? Tradition. That's why. Like this is literally the only school using non electronic text books. Which brings me to my next rhetorical question for myself; Why the heck am I applying for this school?

I sigh as I got off the train. The school seemed bigger than I thought. Well at least I won't die from boredom so easily.

To be honest, the main gate looked extremely awkward. It seemed like some architect had a castle gate replace the main gate, forgetting the main buildings looked like modern skyscrapers. I can't really see the other buildings on the campus because it's foggy in the morning.

Students in the different school uniform strolled in.

The foyer was huge with a roundabout in front and an ancient white marble mermaid fountain spitting water out.

It honestly stuck out like a sore thumb against all the modern architecture. I guess I may be seeing this blasted fountain every day.

As I stepped into the main school building, I saw a senior boy and girl, in darker shade of the school's navy blazers but the same color uniforms. They were student leaders.

The boy was holding up tablet which projected a holographic sign, pointing to the main office, reading "New Applicants Queue At The Main Office." I looked over and sigh as I saw a long queue stretched across the courtyard and dragged my feet over to the never ending queue.

The queue was surprisingly quite fast. It only seemed long because there were students lining up continuously.

The queue was outside possibly what was a large function hall. As I wait, people occasionally came out one by one from the huge metal doors, mostly looking flustered. I raised an eyebrow as a boy burst out of the room in tears. I wonder if he's weak hearted or they were doing something terrible inside.

People at the front of the queue were being ushered in one by one by dark blazer student leaders. They held tablets, keying in each applicant's full name and identification number into the Academy's application system. This probably allowed the school's system to retrieve any information of the student and their conduct in their past schools.

A girl went into the room and another girl left. From what I can tell, people who were leaving were getting rejected. The rest probably stayed in the room... or went out through another door. I think.

"Child, you must be Miss Lytrix, am I right?"

I looked up to face a twenty or so year old man. He was rather tall and wore a long white leather coat with sleeves folded up to his elbows. He wore dark sunglasses. His hair was streaked white and grey. He had a piece of cloth tied around his upper arm with the school crest. Probably a School faculty member.
