What happens when a close friend betrays you in ways you never thought possible?
What happens when something you worked so hard at that you thought you succeeded in, was really a fail?
What happens when they say those fatal words that make your blood boil?
Your fists clench up and all you can think about is ways to get revenge.
What happens when you hearts sinks into your stomach with the drop of a few words?
When they look into your eyes and say something so vile but yet no one else even realizes the immediate hurt you feel?
Like a million pins and needles stabbing your heart, you hold back the tears rising into your eyes.
You can barely bite back your retort before it should slip out of your mouth.
What happens when people agree with the person?
What happens when they expect you to agree but your stock still with shock?
What happens when a lump rises in your throat the size of an apple making it impossible to speak?
What happens when all the lies suddenly become clear?
What happens when you realize that everything you worked for did nothing?
You've accomplished nothing.
You've been lied to.
To the face.
What happens when you question how a person could be such a hypocrite?
How they could have the audacity to tear you down in one fowl swipe?
When you can feel the mockery in their voice.
What happens then?
All the feelings you shared, the tears that have already leaked now ridicule and laugh at you.
What happens when something you believe in becomes the joke?
What happens when people close to your heart are criticised relentlessly?
What happens when the world as you've known it suddenly becomes a lie.
The deception,
the dishonesty,
betrayal,
becomes evident.
What happens then?
You walk away from that person and the hurt and pain that comes along with them and when they yell back at you one last time that you can't do what you've set out to do, you turn and around and say "Watch me."
