Chapter 28 ~The End~

Mitch's P.O.V

"LILAC! NO!" I shrieked kneeling down next to her. She was bleeding awfully quick, then out of nowhere, the gamemaker came up to me and said, "Congratulations Mitch Hughes, you are the winner of this years hunger games!" "I won't be if you DONT save her life!" I exclaimed pointing at Lilac who was still breathing. "What are you going to do huh?" He said crossing his arms. Then, I took out the poisonous berries that I kept in my pocket, "Or else I eat THESE, and then there won't be a winner." I said. "Right......" He said looking at me as if I were lying. I shook in furry, then I put the berries in my mouth, "WAIT! I'll get the doctors!" He said giving in. I spit the berries out, and I grinned.

Then, random men carried Lilac away, and many camera men surrounded me. They asked me many questions, like, 'What do you feel about winning?' And 'Were you really going to eat those berries if they didnt save Lilac?' But I pushed them out of the way and followed the men that had Lilac.

Lilac's P.O.V

I opened one eye to find myself in a white room. "Am I in heaven?" I muttered. "No, not yet." I heard a sweet male voice tell me. I looked to the left to see Mitch smiling. "Was the hunger games all a nightmare?" I asked. "No, it was real." He answered. "How am I still alive then?" I asked him. Then he explained everything to me, the berries, me dying, but I just looked at him, with a surprised expression. "W-would you have really eaten those berries, for me?" I asked. "Yes, I can't imagine living on without you." He said. Then, I kissed him, and hugged him, "Thank you Mitch, for everything, I love you, I always will."
