The doctor is a time lord, he is from a planet far away called Gallifrey. A long time ago the time lords and the Daleks (they are aliens that have metal armor so that they are protected and stronger ) got in a a big war called the time war and Gallifrey was destroyed both sides had losses but the time lords went extinct except for one and his name was lost in time but everyone knows him as the Doctor
The Doctor travels through time and space saving planets and species. The Doctor will usually have a companion because he should never be alone but the companions that he takes with him are usually some of the most important people because they are the people that keep him alive and sane. The life of a companion can be fun as long as you like running lots and lots of running and not afraid of danger or aliens. If i was a companion i would be a great companion because i ain't afraid of no aliens and I'm a great runner so I could easily keep up.
