France and Spain are at war.
Granted, they've been at war for twenty years. King Michael VI of France and King Alejandro I of Spain agree that it's time to bury the hatchet. To negotiate peace, Alejandro sends seven delegates to the French Court in Versailles for talks of a treaty.
One includes his daughter, Princess Karla Camila III, heir apparent. This comes as a shock to King Michael and his family, as the princess has never been able to leave the confides of the castle in Madrid.
The princess, only able to communicate in Spanish, sparks interest in Princess Lauren, King Michael's eldest daughter who is betrothed to Louis X, Prince of Britain. The Spanish royal ignites something inside the young princess that Lauren had never felt before. Her love terrifies Lauren, but also makes her crave more.
But love is irrelevant for people like them.
