Game Start

"Mom, I'm heading out to the store now! I'll be back soon!"

I ran down the stairs and out the door; cold, moist, late January air whipping across my face as I closed the door. I began jogging over to the pharmacy around the block. I was wearing my black and pink zip-up hoodie, black sneakers, and light blue jeans; my hip length, curly, brown hair pulled back into a two boxer braids with a few strand of hair the fell out curled in front of my face. 

Suddenly someone shoved me onto the ground in front of a diner laughing, Jared, a popular football jock who asked me out "out of pity for my loneliness" but got rejected, since I have pride for myself, and is now outraged about it.

"Hey, look guys, it's Selin. What's up Selin, why are you on the ground, hmm? Here take my hand." Jared sneered, smirking at me.

Jared and his friends smirked down at me, laughing, while he reached his hand out towards me snobbishly. I slapped his hand away and jumped up onto my feet.

"Oh, hey people, look, its a wild ass hat Jared in his natural habitat, and if you look around him you can see the wild popularity vultures that stalk him around him supporting his ego."

I walked off swaying my hips sassily while smirking after kicking him in the stomach, and slowly started jogging the next few feet to the pharmacy. I felt a sharp stinging in my hands while walking through the doors of the pharmacy, noticed I had cuts and a few pieces of glass in my hands from falling on the concrete. I grabbed a couple packages of disinfectants and bandages off a rack on the counter.

"Guess I should pick up some stuff to clean this up..."

I started mumbling to myself about Jared being an ass, then I noticed the workers stocking the shelves with what looked to be a video game of some sort. I started walking to them to get a better look at what game it was. 

" I-Is that.. no.. it couldn't be.. that's 'Dynasty of The Gods'! I've been looking for this everywhere but it's always sold out! Yes!" I almost yelled because of excitement, people at the store stared at me weirdly and I covered my mouth, "Oopsies, sorry."

I ran over there and quickly grabbed the game right before other gamers came storming in to buy their copy. I quickly took out the fifty dollars I'd been saving for it and purchased it before anyone else did. I quickly hid it in my hoodie after buying it, mostly because I didn't want anyone in my neighborhood to know I gamed. I walked over to the pharmacy part of the store, and quickly got my moms medicine and purchased the disinfectant and bandages for my hands.

" Bye, Mrs.Garcia,  see you next week!"

"Bye, Selin, see you next week, and why do you always hide that you game? I'll keep your secret, but why hide it?" Mrs. Garcia, the store clerk and pharmacist, asked obviously curious.

"Oh, umm, I... have my own reasons... well, see ya."

I waved at Mrs.Garcia, the pharmacist at the store, and started running home taking the long way around since Jared and his 'vultures' were still waiting at the diner to harass me. 

"Wow, well aren't they persistent?"

I smirked and snuck past them, giggling, running down the street directly behind my house, and scaled the wall to my backyard, hopping into the backyard; I quickly moved to the front yard and walked in through the front door so my mom wouldn't worry.

"Mom, I'm back! I got your medicine."

she popped her head around the corner and I walked up to her and handed her her medicine. she grabbed the medicine, then quickly grabbed my hands before I could pull away and looked at my palms.

"Was it Jared again? You need to call the police already, they'd handle it."

"I can take care of myself mom, don't worry about it, if push comes to shove I can always beat the hell out of him and his lackeys, okay? You worry about you, I'll take care of everything else, I love you, now  go take your medicine while I clean this up."

She pulled me to the dining room table and sat me down. 

"You know, Selin, you seem to be forgetting who the mom in this family is. I know I can't do much but I can at least do this for you."

She cleaned up my hands then flicked my head as she walked away to her room after taking her medicine so she could rest a bit.

"Now, to go play 'Dynasty of The Gods'."

I smirked and ran upstairs to my room, putting on the Reality Head Gear needed to play the game.

As I lied down on my bed, putting the gear on, I saw heard the familiar voice of the speaker in my head gear,

 "Welcome, Queen, what game are we going to play this time?"

"Hair, brown, long, curly, pulled back into a messy bun, bangs and bit of hair in front left out. Eyes, normal. Skin, olive. Height, Normal. Body type, Normal. Voice, normal. Species, Rogue Elf. Clothing, black, purple and red. Other features, normal."

"Setup complete. Start?"

"Game Start!"
