Mohit

"Baby, let's go out and do something!" Rutt said. It was a Sunday and I was in no mood to go out.

"Like what?" I asked without even bothering to look at her.

"Like go out and watch a movie," she suggested.

"Nah," I replied.

"Umm...shopping?"

"Definitely, No!"

She tapped her index finger on her chin. "Romantic drive?"

"Don't feel like driving."

"Let's eat out then."

"I am not hungry."

"Disco?"

"Don't feel like dancing."

"Drinks?'

"I've got enough booze at home."

"Come onnn! Let's do something!"

"Nah...I'm not in the mood," I rejected her suggestion.

"You lazy bum!" she retorted in dejection.

"Okay, I have an idea," I said.

She looked at me in anticipation. "What's it?"

"Let's make out!" I replied, juggling my brows.

"Say what?"

She didn't reply but stood in front of me, her arms akimbo. Her stare could have convinced any one that she was angry, but I had known her for enough time to tell when she was faking it.

I grabbed her wrist and pulled her in one swift motion towards myself. She lost her balance and fell over me.

"I hate you," she said, smiling to herself.

I contended myself with laughter. "I love you even more when you say I hate you."

I nibbled on her neck to which she chuckled. I could see a glint of naughtiness in her eyes.

"Stupid!" She said, smiling.

"I am stupid for you." There was a goofy smile pasted on my face when I said it.

"Let's do something! We can't just sit here all day," I said to Rutt, breaking the long and awkward silence.

Rutt was back from US for a week now and was acting all different. She immersed herself deep in work and was like always working. Even when she was not working, she acted differently. At first I thought it was just her PMS, but when it continued I got a little suspicious.

Does she know about the kiss?

It was impossible. I knew her very well. She was not the type of person who would keep things bottled up. She would rather clear things up and sleep in peace.

"I am not in the mood," she said without even bothering to look at me and kept hitting some random keys on her laptop.

"Come on...let's go out and watch a movie," I suggested.

"Nah," she replied. "Moreover I have some important work to finish."

"Romantic drive?" I asked, jerking my brow up.

She gave me tough look. "No, Mohit. I am working!"

Her eyes were throwing daggers at me. I knew I had to back off but I decided to take my chances.
