Never Knew I Would

I set the pilot script on my desk as my manager comes in and asks me if I'm going to take the project. I thought about the character they are offering to me well and hard. This is really going to be a challenge for me because this kind of role isn't what I usually do. But change is good, right?

"I'm going to take it." I told my manager and she smiled at me

"Good! Good! You're the leading lady. Your name is going to be Jane Smith, the 'perfect' wife with the perfect life but is your relationship with Mr. Smith really perfect too?" Clara, my manager, told me with a hint of excitement in her voice

"I'm very excited for this!!" I replied joyfully

"Wala ka pa namang leading man. They are still looking for the perfect guy. They're asking me na if you're going to take this role, may recommendation ka daw ba kung sino gusto mong maging partner?" My manager replied with a smile

"Well, wala pa naman akong maisip right now pero I'll let you know." I told her

"Okay, I'll leave you na. Enjoy the weekend!" She replied and left my house

I just sat down for awhile, thinking until my phone rang and saw it was Erika calling.

"Hi Bes!" Erika said happily

"Hey E!! Kamusta ka naman? Ang tagal na natin hindi nagkikita ah!" I told her

"Kaya nga ehh. Free ka ba today? Let's go out! Catch up naman tayo!" She said happily

"Yeah, I'm free!! Where do you want to go?" I asked

"Hmmm... Wanna eat at Stacy's?" She replied

"Yeah! SIge sige! I'll meet you there in 15. Bihis lang ako." I told her

"Sure! See ya Jods!" She said as she ended the call.

I took a quick shower, dressed up, then drove to Stacy's. I saw Erika's car already parked. I went inside the restaurant and looked for her.

"Bes!! Jods!!" Erika said with a loud voice catching my attention

"E!! I missed you!" I hugged her as we sat down on the chairs

"I missed you lots more!! So, ano na ang mga pagbabago sa buhay ni Jodi Chrissie Sta. Maria?" She told me

"Wala naman, mom and dad's still in America celebrating their anniversary and I think magsstay pa sila doon for awhile longer." I replied

After a short chat, we ordered food, ate, and as we finished I told her about the part I took.

"E, I took the part na!" I said smiling

"OMG BES YUNG SA MR AND MRS SMITH?" She asked joyfully, with excitement in her voice

"Yes!!" I said laughing

"Congrats Jods!!" She said as she stood up to hug me

After a few hours of chatting, catching up, I realized it was getting late and told her I needed to go home. We said our goodbyes and planned our next bond.

TUESDAY MORNING

I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing.

"Hello?" I answered sleepily, without even checking who was calling me

"Jods!! May leading man ka na!!" Clara said happily

"OH!! Really!! Sorry hindi ako nakapag recommend tho, couldn't think of anyone pa kasi." I replied

"It's alright! They casted Stephen Ian Veneracion as John Smith, Jane's husband!" She told me

"Haven't heard of him but I bet he's good! Name palang, wow na!" I said jokingly; laughing

"Well, you are scheduled to meet him on Thursday sa bowling alley sa BGC! I think they decided to create a 'bonding' day for you two para comfortable kayo with each other when may taping." She replied

"Sure, okay! At aba, bowling alley pa ha! Susyal!" I told her jokingly

"Siyempre, just for the best! Pero anyway, you'll meet him there at 10am so you two can bond the whole day! Just decide what you want to do after you go bowling. Alam kong hindi ka marunong pero I think Ian knows how to, I've talked to his manager na and that was what he suggested so paturo ka nalang." She told me

"Alright, see you soon Clara! Thank you!!" I said as I ended the call

Oh well, I've got another day to rest and then here comes the hectic work schedules!! I'm very excited for this movie tho!!
