It was at least a couple of years since Dev heard military codes, so the message took him by surprise. He tried to remember his days as a communications and encrypting advisor during the Oil Wars, but he couldn't remember the codename "Sparrow".
He recalled a few memories to try to zero into the codename, it wasn't a period he wanted to remember particularly, since he almost lost his best friend to the war, but the message sounded like it was too important to let it go. He needed to get to the bottom of it...

Dev was in front of a military console, testing out his encryption program. More than testing, it was the only chance they had to make it work, since the war had started a few months before, and the Countries' Alliance needed new methods to transmit information that the conglomerate of corporations was not able to decypher. Unfortunately the corporations were private military organisms and so they could be hired by any "client" with enough money. Demand and Offer, along with UN's resolution that allowed to create Private Military Corporations (or PMCs for short), lead eventually to this war. The revolution had started in the small Ras al-Khaimah principality, in the United Emirates, with Raban Al Hajre taking over the government seat through a State Coup. He was a power thirsty Oil mogul, and that lead him to partake on the coup. After 6 months, Raban Al Hajre controlled the rest of the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Irak, Egypt, Lybia and Argelia, effectively controlling 70% of the world's oil reserves at that moment. Blietzkrieg tactics, the hiring of PMCs and dissuasion through power and religion were some of the strategies used by the dictator to take over the power in those countries. He had declared war on the rest of the world by increasing Oil prices to never before seen levels, provoking an oil deficit that brought the world down to its knees, with all the G8 countries suffering heavy economic losses. The Countries' Alliance was formed to take down this new dictator, marking the start of the Oil Wars, name given by the black gold. This was effectively World War III.
- Encryption program at 100%, no interferences
- Copy that, Falcon, extending the communications field to ground troops.
The Oil War was a war of attrition, with tactical assaults to several critical targets, with no nuclear weapons used, since if only one of the sides decided to use this resource, it would mean Mutually Assured Destruction. Many countries thought about using nukes to bomb the dictator, but they were rapidly dissuaded by UN, since it would mean nuclear contamination in many critical areas.
Dev came back to reality, and decided to remember another period of the war, that crucial moment that made him retire from military advisory, the campaign that ended with the death of Raban Al Hajre, and was the breaking point in the war, with the acceptance of PMCs as valid organizations for armed conflicts. The "technical defeat" of the Countries' Alliance
