"Keep a close eye on her, Tatsumi," I heard Sunako say.
"Why do you want to keep her here?" asked the blue haired male in turn.
"I see all shiki and jinrou as family. You're aware of how she had behaved and I think it's safe that she's here. If she were to be with the others, she may put them in danger. I'm entrusting her to you since you're the only who can handle her. Besides, we don't really know her that well and we can't be sure how she'll react to all of this when she regains her memories. After all, she's been a jinrou for some time without knowing," Sunako explained.
Tatsumi remained silent for a moment before speaking again.
"If she's this unpredictable and dangerous, why keep her around?"
"Like I said, all shiki and jinrou are family to me and I care for them all. I feel sad if I were to lose even one of them. Besides, we could use her as an ally," she continued on.
By then, I was curious about why I was considered dangerous. More questions about myself and the situation I was in spun through my mind once again.
"What if she does it again?" Tatsumi asked.
"Do your best to prevent her from doing so. Make sure she doesn't meet up with Megumi. Who knows what will trigger within her if she saw her. I'll have to admit, this is the first time something like this has happened. It's unheard of," Sunako sighed.
I lost interest after they changed the subject, however, I was seriously eager to know about what they were talking about. Obviously they were hiding things from me, they were keeping me in the dark.
What is it about me that they're hiding from me, I thought to myself as I wandered back to my room. The next day, Tatsumi came into my room and gave me a glassful of what I presumed to be human blood. He then led me outside the building I was in, through the back entrance I guess. As I stepped out, I was met with the nice cool night air. It was dark, except for the half moon hiding behind the clouds, accompanied by the thousands of twinkling stars. Turning around, I got a full and a clear view of the building. It appeared to be a big castle or a mansion. We kept walking for some time through the woods, until we came into a clearing. We stopped as soon as a group of houses came into view. It seemed to be some sort of small community or village. Some sensed our presence and turned towards our direction.
I was able to take in their inhuman appearance. The crimson red orbs within pitch black eyes, sharp vampire teeth and their deathly pale skin. I followed Tatsumi as he began to walk again.
"Arisu-chan!"
As I followed Tatsumi, I heard that name repeatedly being called out. It was a male's voice and it was getting closer. The next thing I knew was that someone grabbed my shoulder, urging me to turn around. Soon, I came face to face with a young blonde haired male. Concern was written all over his face as he pulled me into a hug.
"Arisu-chan, you're safe. I was worried about you when you suddenly disappeared," he softly mumbled.
"Who are you?" I started.
He froze for a while before inspecting my face for any signs of recognition.
"Arisu-chan?"
Instinctively, I swatted his hand away when he tried to pull back my hair from my eyes.
"How dare you act so casual with me," I said in a hostile manner.
The blonde stranger appeared perplexed by my reaction. His eyes looked past me and towards Tatsumi. He was searching for answers, for an explanation. Before the blonde could say or do anything, I was abruptly pulled away by Tatsumi. I watched as the other male was about to say something, only to remain silent. A flicker of fear appeared in his eyes as he stood there helplessly. I had a feeling that Tatsumi had threatened him or possibly sent a deathly glare at him.
"Who was that?" I questioned Tataumi as he continued to drag me along with him.
"His name is Mutou Tooru," he replied.
"Why does he know me?" I asked, " and why did you drag me away from him?"
"We have somewhere to be," was his response. I knew pestering him at further with more questions might make him mad. He had hesitated before answering my previous questions, as if he was choosing the right words to say. His grip began to tighten on my wrist. I found myself growl a little before pulling my hand away from him.
"I can walk on my own," I said agitatedly. I was still curious about this Tooru person.
Who is he? How does he know me? Why was he concerned about me and what did he mean when he mentioned my disappearance? More questions whirled through my head but then I remembered something he said.
"Arisu," I mumbled. That's the name he had called me earlier. Could that be my name? Or did he mistook me for someone else?
