A/N OHMYGOSH its 2016! Haha. I sincerely apologize for not updating this story for such an immense period of time as I have been so so busy lately. Anyways, the good news is that there's finally another chapter to Shane's mysterious story. Hope you all like it :)

NO.NO.NO.NO

This constantly revolves in my head like a hamster on a wheel. I dash as fast as I possibly can to the white gate that marks the territory of the annoyingly gorgeous Marlee. The front yard is empty but luckily with a quick shove, the gate swings wide open. I run to the door so fast, I nearly slam into it with my body. I knock as loudly as possible and with much relief, hear the familiar clicking sounds of black pumps.

''Shane, right?'' Marlee says as soon as the door opens.

''Give it back!''

''Excuse me?'' she scoffs. '' Where are your manners? Honey, last time I checked, this wasn't your house and I don't have the slightest clue who you are.''

''Well, HONEEYY, last time I checked normal people don't hit strangers with frying pans. You seriously tick me off.''

Marlee just glances at her nails and sucks in a deep breath.

''Hey, just give back what's mine and I'll be gone. You won't see this handsome face again.''

''Alright egotistical maniac.''

Seriously, she called me a maniac? I'm not the one wearing pumps around the house and substituting a weapon with a frying pan. I want to retaliate but decide against it. She just stares at me making me feel very uncomfortable.

''Today would be nice,'' I say through a forced grin.

''Oh right. Sorry, I spaced out for a second.''

She ushers me into the room where I woke up in and slowly closes the door behind her.

Click,click,click.

''So, where's my stuff?''

''Oh, your green gooey stuff?''

''Yes. Can you please hand it over? I need to go.''

''I.. uh.. I..'' She mumbles which makes me more annoyed.

''Spit it out!''

''The thing is, I can't give it to you.''

I cannot believe this girl. I close my eyes, count to ten and then open them again.

''What do you mean? You misplaced it? You gave it to someone? I am begging you, you have to give it back to me. You have no idea how important that thing is to me.''

''It's not missing. I know exactly where it is. All I need is time.''

''Why?''

''It's with my Aunt Rosa. When I saw it, it piqued my curiosity.''

''Well, curiosity killed the cat,'' I mumble.

''Hey, will you just give me a chance to speak. At least listen if you want to know where your freakishly green goo is.''

''Fine. You may proceed.''

''Thank you. I left it in my room because I had to come check on you again. See that you were okay. You were still knocked out so I decided to have breakfast. Aunt Rosa saw it in my room so she asked me what the stuff was but I told her that I'd never seen it before. She decided to keep it saying that it looked dangerous and that I shouldn't fiddle with it so it's in her care at the moment.''

''And you can't get it from her?''

''That, my friend, would be very very difficult.''

'' That stuff is very important to me, okay?! I need you to get it back!''

''I can't promise you anything but today's her shopping day. She leaves in about an hour and a half. Don't worry Shane,'' she says with a kind of strained smile.

''Fine but if I don't get it back, you better watch out.''

************************

It's been forty five minutes but I feel like I've been here for an eternity. Marlee went back to her room so as not to cause suspicion from her aunt, which means I'm stuck here, wallowing in the pain of what just happened. My mind wanders to my parents and Perrie and I can't control the stream of tears on my face. That's the last thing I remember doing before falling into a deep sleep.

A series of light smacks on my forehead wakes me up making me feel lightheaded when my eyes heavily open. I wake up to the sight of Marlee in sweatpants and a blue T-shirt. Thank God she's wearing sneakers. I look around the room but nothing seems out of place. Well, except for the worried look on her face.

''How long was I asleep?''

''Get up! We need to hurry!'' she says in a loud whisper.

''What? Why?'' My senses are immediately alert.

Marlee picks up a knapsack from the floor, which makes me wonder whether her black pumps are stuffed in there, and looks out the tiny windows.

''Oh snap. Come on Shane, we've gotta go. NOW!''

''Where's the Mars509? Where's your aunt? What's happening?''

''They're coming. We have about ten minutes to leave before they get here.''

''They? Who's they? Marlee, tell me what's going on or I will not leave this room.''

She stops and looks me straight in the eyes.

''Shane, I need your help. I know what happened to your father and I know what the Mars509 can do.''

I stare at her dumbfounded, the look on my face willing her to continue.

''I've also been lying to you about some things. I have no aunt and I've been expecting you for over a week now. Has it never occurred to you that the trap door from your home lead you straight here? Pete's men are going to burst through here any second and I promise you that they will not hesitate to fill us with bullets.''

I blink rapidly, quite amazed at all that I'm hearing but I just manage to get out,'' But they don't suspect that I have the Mars509. That's the whole reason why Rob gave it to me. How do they know I'm here?''

What Marlee says next makes my blood run cold.

''They don't know you're here but they know I do. Shane, Rob Kweller was my father.''
