"Come on, wake up Malachi!"

"Ugh.. Five more minutes..."

"No! Get up NOW!"

I groaned and got up out of the cot I've been sleeping on since I got here, about a month ago. It was a little uncomfortable, but we could all manage. I walked out of the bunker and looked around, shielding my eyes from the blazing sun. I finally saw Dante, my close and only friend. His blue hair glinted in the light.

"Malachi, Dude, A new shipment of people are arriving at the other two islands."

I stared at him confused for awhile, remembering someone telling me about there being four islands, But I remembered there was one island that was uninhabited, as far as we knew.

Ugh... so he got me out of my bed for this? Sure, it was the first "shipment" since I've been here but still... Sleep...

"Fine Dante, whatever you say.." He gave me an excited look before grabbing my wrist and bolting over to the other islands on a thin, wobbly wooden bridge. I honestly thought the bridge was going to collapse every time I walked on it, sending whoever on it to tumble down into the jagged, rocky ocean. I shuddered at the thought. I tried to take my attention off of the rocks below. I noticed my light brown hair was basically sticking up, forgetting to fix it this morning. I tried to comb through it with my fingers and before I knew it, we were across the bridge.

We were at the second island created, inhabited by other humans. We ran over to the Newbie Station, which is a small bunker that could fit about three people. We walked into it and saw a girl. She had fire hair and pale skin. She was sleeping soundly Dante and I were sure to be quiet.

"Malachi, let's go. We don't want to risk waking her."

I nodded in agreement. I would've asked her name, but she wouldn't have remembered. I decided we could go back and check in in a few days.

"On to the next island!" exclaimed Dante.
