I do not own Naruto. Few things to specify,1. the Hokage mentioned in this story is the Fourth Hokage. 2.Kimiko is his sister he doesn't know it, she does. 3. Hayate is not sick in this story.
-Kimikos P.O.V-
We were on a Mission. My ANBU team and I. I'm the best ANBU on the force. When the spot for Anbu Commander opened up, origanally I was the first choice, but I surprised people when I turned it down. So naturally, they went onto the next choice, Itachi Uchiha. I told everyone I didn't want to be Anbu Commander, but they treat me like I am, even Itachi! So we were on a mission, although this time I had a bad feeling about this one and I knew the exact reason why.
My team consisted of Hayate Gekko-Snake, Genma Shiranue-Tiger,Kakashi Hatake-Wolf, Asuma Sarutobi-Eagle, and me, Kimiko Namikaze other wise known as Wolverine. We are known as Tem Zero, or the Phantom team. No one ever sees us. We are known throughout the five nations, identities are a triple S ranked secret. Only the current Hokage will ever know of our true identities. We had just gotten sent out for an assassination of the Lightning Daimyo. But unknown to my team, I had an alternate mission. Kill Orochimaru. We recieved word that he had been spotted in the Land of Lightning. What a coincidence. My team and I are super close, we know what each other is thinking, by just one gesture. I'm also close with Ibiki and Anko from when I worked in the t&I division. I suddenly felt sad for what I had to do, because my alternate mission isn't and assassination. It's a suicide mission. I sighed, I'll miss everyone. Breaking out of my thoughts I realized we've been jumping trees for a couple hours now. I signaled for us to stop.
Landing on a tree I told my team to take an hour rest. I sat with my team around the little fire Eagle made.It was quiet around the fire, all of us stuck in our own thoughts. Getting annoyed with the silence I decides to speak.
"I have a bad feeling about this mission, keep your gaurds up" I said. The others just nodded signaling they heard. I started thinking back to when I fisrt joined ANBU. I was 8 years old. Considered a prodigy by many. I let out a slight gasp as I realized how many years I've been on the job. 18 years. Wow.I'm broken out of my thoughts by Tiger's question "What is it taichou?"
I let out a small laugh " I can't believe it's been 18 years" now this confuses my team. They can't think of anyone that died 18 years ago.
"What's been 18 years" Snake asks. Again, I laugh softly before answering.
"I've been an ANBU for 18 years" before anyone can respond, a rustle sounds in the bushes. Immeadiatley the smell of snake hit my oversensitave nose. My alternate mission has begun, and all to quickley shuriken are launched into the clearing.
