Chapter 16

Niall's pov

Jessica and mom came over and I wrapped them both in a hug. "Hey, what are you two doing here? "

"What? I can't come see my baby at work? "

"mom.." I said getting a little embarrassed at the way she still babied me, but Jessica just stood there and snickered. "oh, you think that's funny? " I smirked at her and she covered her mouth trying to stop.

"oh, leave her be, she's been very lovely company to your lonely mother "

"oh she has, has she? "

"yes, she took me out to lunch and we had a very nice talk "

"uh-oh, what did you talk about? " Jessica spoke this time

"about you, my favorite was the pirate story "

"oh, no " I can't believe mom told Jess about that. They both laughed at my embarrassment.

"oh, well dear I better get home, if you're ready to go Jessica " Jessica opened her mouth to respond, but I cut her off

"you know what, you can stay here and mom can drive your car home, if that's ok "

"yeah, sure. Does that sound Ok to you Maura? "

"that sounds just fine dear " Jessica gave mom her keys and she left. I'm glad Jessica got to spend time with my mom, I just wish they would talk about something besides me. Jessica walked over to the benches to finish watching me practice. I looked at my watch and it said 2 o'clock, and I get to leave at three.

"Niall " I snapped my head up looking at Simon and another guy walking towards me. Must be the new trainer. "Niall, this is the new trainer, he's going to help with pretty much whatever you need. Listen to him, he knows what he's doing " Simon slapped his back and walked back to his office.

"Well, we should be properly introduced, I'm Josh, Josh Devine "

"Niall Horan " I shook his hand and we started with punching, Josh put a pair of gloves on and got into a fighting stance.

"take a shot at me "

"man, we just met I don't wanna hurt you "

"you won't hurt me, come on " I swung at his head, which he blocked. I punched his chest two times trying to fluster him, then I brought my foot up to his head making contact with it and making Josh slam into the floor. I rushed over to him to make sure he's ok.

"shit, Josh are you ok man? " he started laughing and holding his chest.

"You just knocked the breath out of me, well done Horan " I grabbed his hand and pulled him up from the floor to continue practicing.

Harry's pov

I got home and threw my keys on the table. I went upstairs to my bedroom and collapsed on the bed. I laid there just listening to the silence, it's always quiet now that Louis moved in with his girlfriend, Eleanor, of course I'm happy for him, I just miss him. We moved from England a few years ago and bought this flat together, and that's when we met Niall and the rest of the lads.I'm feeling really sluggish, but if I want to get to the airport in time to pick up Carlie I better get off my ass and take a shower. I looked at the clock on my wall and it read 3:04, oh I've got like six hours, but I better get a shower anyway. I walked into the bathroom and stripped from my sweaty gym clothes and jumped in the shower. I turned on the water and almost yelped at how cold it was, but I quickly got it to a comfortable temperature. As I let the water wash over my skin I kept thinking about Carlie, I haven't even met her and I can't get her off my mind. But I just can't figure out why Niall was being so protective. I guess he just knows me too well, sure I like to flirt, it's fun, but Niall's been a great friend to me ever since I moved to Ireland, the least I can do is what he asked of me. I finished my shower and got dressed, I didn't bother fixing my hair so I just left my damp curls to fall around my face. It's only 4:30 and I really don't want to be alone doing nothing for four hours. I pulled out my phone and dialled the number of the first person I thought might be free.
