AUSTIN'S POV

I had been trying to build up the courage to ask Alan out on a date for months, but for some weird reason I just couldn't even say hi to him. A few months ago I had came to the conclusion that I had a crush on this certain boy so I started talking to him. I noticed him smiling everytime I talked to him and just the thought of that brought butterflies to my stomach. After a while this crush grew bigger and me being as dumb as I am, I decided to distance myself from him. He probably didn't like me anyway.

I had been avoding Alan and not talking to him at all for maybe a month or two. No matter how hard I tried to get over this crush, it just didn't seem to work. I always stole small glances at him whenever he wasn't looking and maybe he caught me a few times but that's not really important. None of my friends knew about this crush and I planned on it staying that way.

It was Monday which meant another week of me being akward around Alan and stealing glances at him. I quickly walked to the class I was having and sat down when I noticed the oh so familiar ginger sitting in front of me. Just the sight of this backhead made me smile. "Wow Austin, you've got it bad" I mumbled to myself hoping no one heard it. Alan quickly snapped his head around looking right at me. "Did you say anything?" He said in a hopeful tone. Damn, what is this boy so excited for? "Nope" I said with a little voice crack looking anywhere but his face. He turned back again with a frown on his face. God he was too cute.

The week went by with absolutely no other encounters with Alan. All my friends had been asking me if there was something that bothered me lately and I really just wanted to tell them about my little crush, even though it was proably not so small anymore. But I had to realise that this crush would probably come to an end soon.

Every night my dreams consisted of Alan and there was nothing I could do about it. I feel like this crush would never end. Maybe I should just do something about it than sit at home thinking about him. "I'll ask him out tomorrow" I promised myself before I went to sleep.

ALAN'S POV

It was currently lunch time and me and my friends had decided that we would leave school and eat at McDonalds. We were sitting around a big table eating all the food we had ordered when I saw a familiar boy with brown walking in. "Oh there's Austin" I heard my friend Phil say. Not that I was jealous or anything but Phil was a really good friend of Austin and plus he was also gay. I don't know why but I was almost scared that they would start dating. Yeah, I did have a crush on Austin and I told my friends Kellin and Aaron once but they had probably forgotten about that a long time ago.

"Hey, come over here bro" I heard Phil yell at Austin that had just walked in with his friend Chris. He looked towards us and smiled. "Sure" he said back. "We'll just get some food first" Chris said and dragged Austin towards the line. There wasn't really many people around right now becuase everyone was probably at school or had something better to do than eat junkfood for lunch.

After 5 minutes of me waiting nervously for Austin to come he finally came over to our table. "What's up?" He asked mostly directed to Phil. "The sky" Phil answered with a light chuckle. Austin rolled his eyes at him but laughed back. He quickly gazed over everyone around the table before his eyes landed on me. "Hi" he simply muttered to me and turned his head back to Phil and started talking to him. Of course he didn't care that I was here.  I just let this crush really get to me for some reason. Sometimes I just wish he felt the attraction too, but i'm not dumb and I know that he will always be out of my league.

"You're staring" Kellin whispered and nudged me lightly in the arm. "Oh" I blushed and looked down. I could see Kellin looking at Vic silently telling him something which I didn't understand. "I think we should get back to school" Chris said from the other side of the table not even acknowledging me sitting there. "We should hurry, lunch break is over in 10 minutes" Austin answered and dragged him out of the restaurant. If you even could call this a restaurant.

After we had arrived at school again, I had caught Austin looking at me trough out the whole class. "What?" I asked him after I had caught him about 6 times. "Nothing, just that your eyes are really beautiful" He said bluntly not caring about if anyone heard him. "T-thanks" I finally answered after an awkward silence. He just smiled and turned back to the teacher while writig down notes.
Quit acting so shy I told myself. Did he like me? Probably not. He is one of those guys who flirts with everyone not caring about their feelings. Did he ever stop to think of that maybe some of these people will possibly get a crush on him? Not that I had one but, oh I can't lie. I had the biggest crush ever on him.

When school finally was over I headed over to my locker putting my books back in and speed walked out of hell, oops I mean school. When I reached the doors and went outside, I breathed in the air. "Oh, sweet freedom" I said hoping no one heard. To my luck, a few people sent me weird clances but still kept walking. I felt my phone buzz in my pockets, so I took it out to find out that Phil had sent me a text asking if I wanted a ride home. "Sure" I typed back and hurried off to his car which was always parked at the same place.

Phil was already sitting in the car. But of course Austin had to be sitting right next to him. "Fuck" I muttered as I got in the back of car. "What's wrong?" Phil asked me. "Uhm, nothing" I quickly said back. "Okay, then we're heading home" He said as he speeded off.

Phil started playing some music which I guess was Korn and Linkin Park at a low volume as he small talked with Austin. When we had been driving for a while, I saw Austin leaning over to Phil and whispered something in his ear while he looked at me. Phil just nodded as an answer and opened his mouth. "You wanna come to my place? Austin is coming too." He asked not taking his gaze off the road.

I wondered if I could handle sitting next to Austin for a few hours. I came to the conclusion that it was probably the thing I have wanted most in my entire life. "Yeah, I guess" I said trying to act cool even though there was tons of butterflies in my stomach. "Cool" He said as he focused on the road again.

After what felt like hours we finally arrived at his house and went inside. "My parents aren't home right now" He told us. "But that only means that we can play video games and not worry about if anyone is gonna hear you guys scream when I beat your asses" He said. "Oh shut it" I told him back with a huge grin. Austin just snickered as we went upstairs.

After playing video games for a while Phil excused himself because he had to go to the toilet or whatever. To be honest, I didn't really listen because I was to busy staring at Austin the whole time. When Phil was gone, Austin paused the game and turned around and looked at me. "Alan, I have to tell you something" He said while biting his lip. He almost seemed.. Nervous? Oh wow, Austin Carlile the flirting jackass was nervous? This must be written down in the history books. "What is it?" I asked him trying to hide that I was happy that he finally spoke to me again.

"I'velikedyouforawhilenow" He said in an inhuman speed. "What?" I asked him. Could this boy talk any faster? "I've liked you for a while now and I wondered if you would like, maybe go on a date with me someday?" He asked with hope in his eyes. I couldn't believe the words that came out of his mouth.

"Did your friend tell you to ask me this?" I asked genuinely confused. There couldn't be another reason. "No Alan, why would you think that?" He asked and looked me in the eyes. "It's just weird that you would ask me, out of all people" I chuckled and looked down at my hands. He grabbed my chin and made me look him in the eyes again. "Don't think like that, I really like you. And I have for a while now" He told me. It looked like he was actually speaking the truth. "In that case, then yes I would love to" I mumbled trying not to blush. "I'll text you later then" He said and moved away from me as Phil came back. "Watcha doing?" He asked and looked at both of us. "Oh, nothing" Austin answered and winked at me before they went back to playing video games.
