"What do you mean I'm not old enough?" I questioned the man with the Helmet.
"Look Kiddo we don't bring people that aren't old enough to withstand the horro-"
"I'm Eighteen, I can handle what may lie ahead, and I will join the BLU team!" I protested.
"Forget it, Maggots like you that crawl onto the doorstep are not welcomed. Now get out or be the Doctor's creepy science experiments."
I looked over the Soldier's left shoulder and saw their Medic look at me and wave. He was holding a jar full of eyes and.. bread.
"You can't stop the youth! I'll be back." I grunted, leaving the Sign ups.
A few weeks ago there were flyers that had words on them, yes words. Finally right? Okay no. The flyers said something about war between Two brothers. One side said BLU, the other had RED. and in the middle was a purple text that went like this, " Which side will you choose? ". At the moment I didn't want to do anything with it until my Family convinced me too. They suggested I should do something good for the family, and they would build a statue if I died. Susan said that she would. (To improve on her art.) I wasn't too scared of war but I was scared of dieing. Other than my fear of not knowing what would be after life, I told them that I would. After a few weeks passed of meeting most of the requirements, we are here. Going back home with the worst face I could make for being upset.
I headed towards the train station which wasn't too far away from the building, or the place we were supposed to be for our signing. It was an old factory for all I know. As I grew closer to the benches, there were three people. One looked upset, the other angry, and the last.. not so great. There was another bench so I decided to sit there with the sun beaming in my face, forcing my eyes to squint at the bright things.
It was getting boring so I got up from the bench and walked towards those people. They seemed more depressed up close, or angry I should say. By the time I was near them, they looked at me as if they didn't like my face.
"So uh, why are you guys here?" I asked the three of them.
"They said I was too sensitive whenever they yell or if someone.. if someone..", The girl sniffed, "Pushes me around all the time. It's my fault for living with people who were like that."
"Look 'ere, I don' have the smarts like some do. But I do can do the best actin' than any of you. Unfortunately I don' 'ave the best sight, go on 'n ask if you'd like." The guy in a hoodie spoke.
"Who's there again?" The sunglassed guy questioned.
"Another Reject like us.." The girl replied.
"Oh, well whoever you are I'm blind." The blind person said.
"But how does one-" I got interrupted.
"I have my ways, and I'm not telling one of you. So here's the deal I can see with hearing and smell."
I held up two fingers.
"And you're being rude, put your fingers down missy. Or I will stop there."
I put my hand down with no hesitation.
"My father is a scientist and knows more about the body than my mom who's a Doctor. They uhm.. used things on me. The BLU rejected me, same goes for the RED for my blindness. Then I found these two." He pointed at the sky, then them.
"We call ourselves the REJECTS." He said proudly.
"Not really.." The shy girl whispered.
"I didn't agree to this, but whatever." The Hooded guy said.
