He was at his office working since the minute he left the bed earlier that morning. It's always been like this in the beginning of the year, he locks himself in his office and just works all day. After all, running a record label and producing several different shows wasn't easy at all and he needed to renew the contracts from his shows and decide who was gonna continue or not working on them.

"Simon?" He heard a voice coming from outside and a knock on the door. He rolled his eyes, he absolutely hated to be interrupted while working.

"Come in." He said annoyed.

"Babe, I thought we could go out to have dinner or maybe do something fun with Erick." The woman now standing in front of him said.

"Lauren, you know I have to work. Can't we just go another day?" Simon replied already losing his cool.

"Simon, you have said that for the entire week. I just miss spending time with you." Lauren said patiently, she didn't want to start another fight about the same thing. It was always like this, although Simon was a great father he sometimes could deep himself in his work and forget about everyone around him, including Lauren and Erick.

"Lauren, I really need to finish this just for today. I don't have time, not right now." He tried to sound less irritated, Simon knew she got a point but couldn't help being annoyed, she knew how much he hated when people interrupted his work so why would she?

"But it's not just right now, you never have time!" She shouted this time. She wouldn't put up with this any longer, she didn't deserve this. "I understand you have your work but you also have a son!" She usually wouldn't argue with Simon, but she was tired of him putting his work first.

"Fine, you're right." Simon sighed. He knew he was wrong and he felt guilty now. "We can go to The Ledbury, I know it's your favorite." He said trying to please her.

"Sounds great but how on earth are we gonna get a table there?" Lauren asked excited.

"I'm Simon Cowell, simply as that." He gave her his usual smirk and wink.

They took Erick to the park before going to The Ledbury to have dinner. Simon had been so focus on his work for the past few weeks that he had forgotten how nice it felt to spend some time with his family. He loved his son more than anything in the world and despite how his relationship with Lauren started he also had learned to love her. It's been almost 3 years since he had found out about her being pregnant and at the time everything was really tough on Simon. The circumstances didn't help at all since not only was Lauren the wife of Simon's best friend but also Simon was in love with another woman at the time. It was the most difficult thing for him to have to leave someone he loved and choose to stay with Lauren who was the mother of his child, but he knew he did the right thing for Erick.

Simon's POV

I put Erick to bed and wait till Lauren falls asleep as I know she'll complain if she sees me working and I just can't deal with it right now. I come back to my office sitting by my desk, I know it'll be a long night but I'm used to it. As I have business both in London and LA, I usually stay awake until 5 or 6 in the morning. I have to send some important emails to the producers and make some calls to LA but I decide to only send the emails, I don't really feel like discussing contracts right now and well... since I'm the boss I can just do whatever I want.

I turn to the shelf behind me and grab my favorite bottle of scotch, I like drinking a few glasses at night because it helps me relax and since I don't really feel like sleeping this might help me, otherwise I'll have to stick to the sleeping pills. After a few glasses I find myself scrolling down twitter. I don't usually tweet a lot unless I'm drunk or when I want the fans to comment on my shows, I love to hear their ideas and also see if they're enjoining it. But sometimes I check twitter just to see what's going on with the internet and to see what's trending. As I scroll down my timeline and see the only thing that could really catch my attention at this hour.
