I sat at an empty desk, which was nearly impossible. It was all the way in the back, next to a bookshelf. Great, I'd have to get up and get the books for the entire class. On the shelf sat The Hunger Games series and Harry Potter series, along with a few standalone books. The students were putting their stuff in the desks that they would have for the rest of the year. The teacher, Mrs Tigon, grabbed a stick of white chalk and wrote in messy handwriting her name and the class we would have with her every day, Biology.
I'd always hated anything to do with hurting animals, but I guessed since they were dead it was okay, but I didn't agree with that.
The school day passed very quickly up until lunch. Biology, Gym, Writing, and Criminal Justice. I personally favored Mr Gavon's writing class last year to Mr Dexter's this year, but it was still my favorite class. At lunch I sat alone at a small table that would seat four people. Eventually, I noticed people beginning to walk over to me.Two boys and one girl. The girl had black hair and fair skin, she was wearing dark blue eyeshadow over her gray eyes and a maroon lipstick. The two guys were complete opposites. One of them had black hair, gray eyes, and pale skin. The other had blonde hair, tan skin and blue eyes. The girl and the first boy had to be related.
"Hi, I'm Kendyl," the girl gave a toothy grin, making her lips look very thin. She was absolutely goregous and her voice was the same. "This is my brother, Leo, and our friend Mitchell."
Mitchell grinned and kissed my hand. "May we join you, m'lady?" he asked, sitting next to me without an answer. I still nodded to the other two. Kendyl sat across from me and Leo sat across from Mitchell.
At some point during lunch, Mitchell cracked a joke and everyone laughed, then he got up to throw his tray away without even eating anything. I noticed that everyone in the room was only drinking their milk and not eating their food.I thought that they must be paranoid until the middle of Arithmetic. I threw up everything I had eaten and had to go home.
First day of freshman year and I already got sent home.
It took my mom half an hour to get to the school, getting lost three times on the way. When she finally did, she was accompanied by a police officer, who demanded I get in the back of my mom's car and lay down. I did as he said and groaned as I lifted my feet off of the concrete pick-up area.
The ride was very bumpy and gave me an even worse stomach ache than I already had. When I sat down on my bed, I immediately threw up again.
The next day everyone was looking at me. Kendyl, Leo and Mitchell still sat next to me, but didn't talk. I noticed that they were all arguing about something. I strained my ears to hear
"Leo, I'm not asking her out! I'm not a lesbian!" Kendyl whisper-yelled.
"I meant for me, you numbskull," Leo sighed.
"Just stop fighting aleady, before I call your mom!" Mitchell threatened, and I knew he had a red face from the way he was talking.
"That's it," Leo slammed his hands on the table and walked away, leaving Kendyl and Mitchell to fight, which they did.
"You should have never decided to sit next to her, all she has done is cause problems between the three of us!" Kendyl didn't even try to lower her voice this time, and then stormed off. Mitchell stayed behind though, his head in his hands. I gently rubbed his back with my left hand and pushed his hair out of his red face with my right. He was sobbing, and I couldn't stop it. I finally pulled him from the table and into my arms, where he stayed for the next ten minutes until the bell rang. We had the same class next, Arithmetic. He sat next to me in the back of the room and quietly passed notes to me.
The notes were always the same thing, thank you.
At the end of class, we parted ways and I despised the next class. I had geometry with Leo, who had an assigned seat next to me. He didn't say anything but he kept glaring at me and at one point the teacher noticed.
"Leo Kasich, will you please leave Lianna alone and do your work? Or do I have to report you to the principal for cheating off of her paper?" Mr Aspen stood in between our desks and put his hand on my left shoulder, "I'm so sorry that you got sick yesterday. I've asked the teachers that you missed yesterday to not make you do the work you missed until the weekend, when I have tutor lessons. I've already contacted your mother and she said you could come at about noon and leave when school would end."
The rest of the classes went by so fast I didn't really remember which ones they were. I reached my house and plopped down on the couch, throwing off my bookbag and coat. I guess I could get used to this school, if I didn't have two people that hated me.
The next day, I found out why Leo and Kendyl were so angry with me, een though I hadn't done anything to them. He had come. He had silky hair that flew up in different directions and swooped to the right, causing a very beautiful effect. He was purely beautiful. Like an endangered tiger, and I was his prey.
