Jess pov
*Jesse's Aunt
"Get in the damn car!" Sandra hissed at me quietly looking around. Probably worried that someone would hear and see right through her fake facade of a caring aunt. I ripped my arm out of her iron grip and stalked to her rusty beat up convertible, getting in I sat completely straight and stared out the cracked windshield preparing for whatever fury of hell was coming my way. Not even a minute later my aunt came in slamming her door unnecessarily hard and making the already chilled temperatures freeze.
Turning the key in the ignition three times Sandra grunted in effort before the car actually started up making a weird spluttering noise. As we drove off the lot I could feel her heated gaze on the side of my head practically burning a hole, but I didn't dare look at her not wanting to provoke her uncontrollable anger more.
"Why Jesse?" she seethed after a few short moments of us driving in complete silence.
I kept my voice leveled, and uncaring "I don't know Sandra you tell me. I ask myself that everyday why did this have to happen to me. I mean what did I do sooo bad to deserve this."
" And Every single time you send me to someone like them it ends the exact same way, and I ask why does she continue wasting our time. But you know I never seem to get any answers to any of my questions. Now can you answer why is that for me?." My face was yet again devoid of any kind of emotion as she jerked over to the side of the Busy highway suddenly, making other drivers honk pissed that she almost made them crash.
"Get.Out.Of.My.Car" She muttered with barely contained anger. Did I strike a nerve?
Giving the fuming woman a sideways glance I wasn't really sure if I should get out, or sit here and endure the punishment of disobeying her. Debating the chances that if I stay it's not like she'd drag me out too scared of witnesses, but I would 110% definitely come out with bruises.
Deciding against it not really in the mode to be mentally and physically abused just yet I grabbed my giant purse like bag from under the seat. Unbuckling my seatbelt and manually unlocking the door I stepped out into the chilly air slamming the door shut.
Not even 5 seconds of the door clicking shut my aunt sped off causing others to swerve out the way again, because of her outrageous speed. I watched as she disappeared down the road and out of site in minutes."Wow didn't know I had such an amazing effect on people."
Adjusting the strap on my bag so that it went around my shoulder and across my waist, I zipped up my long worn out blue jacket and I started my hour and thirty-minute walk home. Kicking rocks and dirt as I continued my journey I hummed the catchy toon to one of my favorite songs Centuries by Fall out boys.

After an hour of walking on the deserted highway I came across a Denny's, and while very sketchy looking it was my best bet to take a break in.
Opening the door to the small place making the bell above it chime I observed my surrounding.
My original plan was to just use the restroom and leave but as I walk in my thoughts slowly drifted away from me, and the smell of cooking food and the sizzling of meat made my stomach growl with emptiness from not eating in over many hours.I found myself sitting in a brown worn down leather stool at the very front of where they cook and grill their food swinging my feet unconsciously around. How I even got to this seat was beyond me considering I didn't even remember moving far from the door.
Making the most of this situation though isn't hard, Lord knows there's no food for me at Sandra's house and I should have a good twenty dollars in my bag.
