this is a name the apprentice book, also including name the kit and (an idea of my own) guess the OC, for some of the apprentice rounds.

there are also some rules so that this game can be successful.

1) when commenting on one of the apprentice or kit rounds, only comment one name. this is fairer on the other participants of the game.

2) don't comment the same name as anyone else, make sure to check if anyone before you has commented the same one. also, don't get mad at anyone who has commented a name that you were thinking of. they wouldn't have known, just get some original ideas.

3) when choosing a warrior name on an apprentice round, don't use any names from the real warrior cat books. for each round I will write which names you can't use. the same goes for kit rounds; if i have used a couple from the books i will write their existing kits that you cannot use.

4) if you have a reason for picking a certain name (for example not just the appearance of the cat, but their personality or backstory), by all means comment it along with the name you have chosen. this way you are somewhat more likely to win that round after demonstrating some creativity ;)

5) as I mentioned, I will include 'guess the OC' in some of the apprentice rounds. think carefully about which suffix to choose, because there will be a hidden clue in the description of the apprentice to help you guess.

6) be imaginative. don't use the standard suffixes (pelt, claw, fur, heart), because they are less likely to win. i will shun those names (i'm joking but honestly) but don't be unnecessarily imaginative, for instance using a suffix that would never really be used by cats, because that would sound unrealistic.

7) the last thing is that I alternate between kit rounds and apprentice rounds. however there isn't a particular order for guess the OC. that only happens when I feel like it.

here's how the games will be run:

[ name the apprentice ]

• I will put an apprentice name up, with a description of what they look like, and a bit of background about them.
• I will also state whether it is a guess the OC round or not.
• comment what you think their warrior name should be. you could also put a description by it, to gain more chance of winning, but you don't have to.
• wait. it may be a short while, or a very long while, but you will find out whether you have won or not in the next round, where three winners will be revealed.

[ name the kit ]

• I will put the names of the mother and father of the kit, both with short descriptions. (usually these will be my OCs) afterwards it is up to you to think of a suitable name for their kit.
• I will also include a bit of background about the kit, too.
• comment what you think the kit's name should be. also include a description of what the kit looks like.
• do not give the kit a warrior suffix or apprentice or leader suffix. just use -kit.
• I will pick three winners for the kit round, which will be revealed in the next apprentice round.

[ guess the oc ]

• for some apprentices I will say whether you have to guess my OC or not. a small clue will be included in the apprentice's description and this will hopefully help when guessing my OC.
• put forward a guess, remember to include a reason why you chose the name. this is exactly the same as the apprentice rounds so do not comment the same name as anyone else.
• the person who guesses my OC will win the game, and will be revealed later on, as well as two other names, which will be my favourite warrior name ideas that have been commented besides the winning OC.
• if no one guesses my OC correctly, either 1) the person with the closest name to my OC will win, along with two other of my favourite ideas, or 2) if no one is close to my OC, I will just pick three of my favourite names that have been commented.

I don't know whether or not I am the first person who has created 'guess the OC', but I did think of the idea so if you want to do the same it would be nice if you gave me a little credit. if you thought of it before you saw my book then of course that's alright :)
