When young, every child has a dream or a wish. Some wish for toys and candy. Others wish for ponies and puppies. Me, I wished to get the hell out of here. I wanted to leave and never come back. To never see the face of that man and woman ever again would be a blessing. I craved to be someone important. To succeed and one day be able to look my parents in the eye and make them regret everything they ever did to me. To show them that they never did break me. And finally to show them what they lost. I refused to be like them. These thoughts are the ones that gave me strength to never go back. I was weak yet strong. Naive yet smart. Daring yet cautious. I was going to making something of myself.
