Fade in, start the scene

Enter beautiful girl

But things are not what they seem

As we stand at the edge of the world

As the sun began to set, hues of pink, red and orange shone brightly in the sky. The breeze soon began to kick up, but the air was still warm. The man sitting at the cliff, his legs dangling off the edge breathed in the warm air. The water beneath him sparkled as the sun slowly vanished from the sky, to shine on a different part of the Earth.

Soon, day turned to dusk, and the man leaned back on his arms, his hands feeling the grass beneath him. As he sat there, watching the stars begin to appear in the night sky, he felt the presence of another person. He turned his head to see a girl, most likely around his age, twenty- three. She, from what he could see, was graced with brown hair and emerald eyes. Clad in a T-shirt and jeans, just like he. On the contrary, he had a mop of blonde hair and stormy grey eyes.

“Hello.” His voice rang out into the twilight.

She looked at him for a moment, and replied. “Hello.”

They exchanged glances, the look in her eyes asking for him to leave.

“What are you doing here?” He asked curiously, “I thought I was the only person who knew of this place.”

She shrugged, “I guess not.” Her eyes still pleading to be left alone.

After a moment of silence, she spoke up, “Excuse me, but could you, maybe leave? I’d really like to be alone.”

One of his eye brows rose in curiosity, but he stood up. “What do you need to be alone for? Isn’t company sometimes nice?”

Sighing, she spoke, “No, company isn’t always nice. Not with self-conclusion. And you’re in my way.”

He opened his mouth to speak, but she cut him off, “Don’t you dare tell me it’s not right.”

“Do you know who you’re talking to?” He questioned her, trying his hardest not to sound rude.

She rolled her eyes, and argued, “I don’t care. You don’t know me.”

“I know,” He said, “but I’d like to change that.”

“Why would you like to know me?” She wondered, anger faintly present in her voice.

“Because, everyone thinks about it, but you aren’t meant to act on it. No matter how miserable you get.” He told her.

“You make it sound so easy. But, pray tell, how am I to seize the day when I feel dead inside?” She pleaded, her breath trembling.

“Trust me, I know you’re unhappy. But instead of dying, live with me.” He suggested.

She gave him a look of disbelief. “You’re crazy! You don’t know me!”

“Look, I would be lying if I said it won’t get rough. And this cliché incentive will never be enough. I can stand here and try to convince you the entire night, but what good would that do?”

She didn’t respond, just looked. So he began to speak once more, “My offer stands. It’s time for you to choose.”

After a few minutes, she spoke, “Alright, you win. But you only get one night to prove yourself better than my attempt at life.” She whispered, “But, know this, if you hurt me, I’ll drag myself back up to this cliff, and I will throw myself off of it. And I know that you’ll never see it coming.”

He walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her. She leaned into his hug and began to cry into his shirt.

“Shh, it’s all right. I know what you’re going through...” He spoke softly to her, “Just ten minutes before you got here, I wanted to jump too.”

Yeah we all flirt with the tiniest notion

Of self-conclusion in one simplified motion

You see the trick is that you're never supposed act on it

No matter how unbearable this misery gets

Fin.

I want to thank JaylaHeart for proof reading this for me!
