Her heart pounded frantically as she ran, the branches slapping her face and tearing her dress, leaving lines of blood covering her body. Her bare feet crushed the dry leaves, giving her path away to the man following her through the black of night. She heard his footsteps and turned around to see his shadowed face barely 10 feet behind her.
"Stop running Elizabeth. You know you won't get far from me." His voice felt like velvet in her mind, so soft and sweet she had to constantly remind herself of what was happening and all his lies.
She turned around only to see he'd gotten closer, when she crashed to the ground, her head hitting a large root barely visible in the ground. As she lost consciousness the last thing she remembered was the smell of him and his piercing eyes. He leaned over her body and started to pick her up.
"Oh Elizabeth. I don't understand why you don't accept the situation when it would probably be better for you." He picked her up as she fell into the darkness.
