Blind Love

Meeting

Yuu's POV~

Ever since I was younger I've had terrible eye sight. Now it's come to the point where I can't see anything except for blurred colours of the world I live in. It's so nice and relaxing to just sit outside and listen to all of nature's wonderful sounds, which is a plus for someone who can't see. I'm just glad I can see only colour. It's remarkable how much real colour there is in the world when you can't see.

Today I'm starting my first day in college and I'm rooming with someone other than Misaki, a female friend of mine whom I've known for a long time. It is kind of nerve wrecking to be with someone else who most likely won't like a blind guy like me, but I hope to make a good first impression.
"So, your roommate is Kenta Sasaki. He's a first year like you so it shouldn't be a problem. You alright?" Misaki is beside me guiding me to my dorm room. "Yeah, it's just such a new experience and I'm kind of nervous," I tell her quietly. We stop at the door and Misaki knocks. Ok ok, take a deep breath and relax. The door opens and a strong male voice emerges from the room, "yeah, can I help you?" His voice is deep and stubborn, yet relaxing at the same time.
"Hi, I'm Misaki and this is Yuu, he will be your roommate for a while." I perk up "nice to meet you" and bow. All I can see is a blurred figure with a white and red patterned shirt on. He looks tall and muscular.

Misaki leaves and the door closes behind me s I walk into the dorm. "So, you're gonna be my new roommate for a while." The man approaches from behind and guides me further into the room. "Ah, yes." Wyah I'm so nervous to be alone with someone with an attractive voice, it almost makes me have an urge to actually see him. "What's wrong with your eyes? They shouldn't be silver," my roommate is standing right in front of me and I can smell a light sent of cologne on him. I freeze. Many people have asked me the same question and when I tell them they automatically leave me. I want to make a good impression and at least get another friend, so my only choice is to be honest and pray it goes smoothly. "Oh, well you see" I start, "I'm blind. I can only see blurry colours of everything so it's hard to get around."
We sit in silence for a short while until he speaks up again, "Eh! No way! Seriously?"
"Y-yeah," I've never had anyone react like he did so I guess it's a good sign.
"Wow, I would never have noticed, especially with such a pure face like yours."
Pure face? "Haha, most people don't see it until I tell them. In fact, most people I tell usually leave me because no one wants to hang around with a blind guy." This is the reason why Misaki is the only friend I have. When I first met her, back in grade school, she saw my eyes and told me they were super cool and she's been my friend ever since. She always stood up for me, helped me, and never left me behind.
"It doesn't matter what your physical appearance is, it matters on your personality and who you are." He giggles a bit. Did I actually make a new friend?
"Name's Kenta Sasaki, nice to meet you roomy!"
