A Strange Kind of Love Chapter 10-Let the Bantering Begin!

When Kagome woke that morning she was feeling more excited than ever. She recalls what had transpired in her mind. Oh how she just wanted it to happen already. She was so giddy with excitement she almost couldn't contain it. She then shook her head and thought," Calm down! It will happen soon I just have to be patient. I will probably be happy with what I get in reward if I just be patient." Kagome looked around and saw that her companions were still asleep so she decided to occupy herself and go to the hot springs to take a bath. So she gathered her things and started to walk out of the hut when she bumped into something. It was more like someone. Kagome looked up and saw gold eyes that held amusement in them. Kagome knew these eyes too well. She smiled and said," Good morning love. How was your evening last night?" Sesshomaru replied with amusement still in his eyes," Morning love. My evening was fine." Kagome stared at Sesshomaru and said playfully," What? What's so funny about me huh?" Sesshomaru said," Nothing dear. It's just that you're usually so alert that you would notice my presence before you even got to the doorway. This time you bumped right into me. I just find it amusing that you're so clumsy today." Kagome being playfully defensive shouts," I am not!" She then playfully punches Sesshomaru's arm and he fakes his arm hurting. They both smile and they walk to the forest where the hot springs were located.
Once there Kagome and Sesshomaru went separate ways. Kagome to the spring while Sesshomaru went to a tree to wait for Kagome. Kagome once again let her mind wander. This time though it was on something else instead of Inubaka and Clay pot. No this time it was on Sesshomaru. She wonder what it would be like to be with Sesshomaru in the west. She knew it would be a very different place to get used to since she was going to be with him in his castle no doubt. Sesshomaru and her had an inseparable loving relationship. She wondered what would she do once she was in the west...well for the rest of her life. She wondered would she love it in the west when she was with Sesshomaru. Then a very threatening thought came to mind that almost made her cry. Would he even at least acknowledge her once they were living together in the west? Kagome furiously shook her head. She wouldn't even go there. He would love her forever and he WOULD acknowledge her every single day. She would do the same to him. She would love him the rest of her life. Kagome wiped the tears that came out when she had that disturbing, horrible thought. Kagome then put on a smile at the thought of being with Sesshomaru for the rest of her life. She then got out of the spring and proceeded to dry herself then dress herself in a kimono that was light pink. To hold the kimono together was a hot pink obi. The kimono had slits on both sides that went up to her knees. This kimono was made so it would be easier to move and fight in battle. Kagome then grabbed her belongings and went to the tree Sesshomaru was waiting for her at.
Once Kagome reached Sesshomaru she propped her things against the tree and then sat right next to Sesshomaru taking his hand in hers. She then leaned her head on Sesshomaru's shoulder and looked out at the scenery before her. Sesshomaru looked down at Kagome and then moved to give her a kiss on top of her head. Sesshomaru could feel Kagome's sorrow. It was really deep within her and he wanted to know what it was so he could wipe it away from her and keep her happy. He also noticed that she smelt of salt water so he assumed that she had cried but what about was his question. So he asked," Kagome what's wrong? What happened?" Kagome looked up at Sesshomaru and saw that he was serious. He must have smelt her tears or felt her aura. Darn demon senses! Kagome looked back at the scenery before her and said," It's nothing love." Sesshomaru said," Kagome look at me. What happened?" Kagome did as told and then said," I was just thinking is all. It was just about us but I know it's not going to happen. I'm fine love don't be so worried." Sesshomaru then understood and decided to drop the subject. Kagome then stood up and said," Well I have to go. I'll see you later ok?" And she left for the village. Sesshomaru stood a few minutes later and went further into the forest to take a walk around to think.
Kagome had just reached the village when Sango comes running up to her. Sango said," There you are! Are you ready to start the plan?" Kagome replied," Yep! Let's go!" Off Kagome went with Sango to none other than Kikyo. Sango called," Hey Kikyo!" Kikyo turned to see Sango and surprisingly Kagome running towards her. They both seemed to be in good spirits. Kagome whispered to Sango just as they were approaching Kikyo," When I leave you that's your cue to start with the bantering." Sango gave Kagome a small nod. Kikyo then said slightly on guard," Hey Sango. Hey Kagome what's up?" Sango said," Not much we just wanted someone to talk to cause there's not many people that we know to talk to around here." Kagome added," Plus we're kind of bored just sitting around in Kaede's hut and helping people around here. It's not like we don't like helping the villagers though." Kikyo taking the bait says," Oh ok so what do you want to do or talk about?" The girls instantly started talking together like no tomorrow. Kagome then said," Oh! I'm so sorry girls I just remembered that I have some things to take care of. I'll see you later!" And she left. Kagome thought as she was walking away," Please Sango make it good."
Sango watched as Kagome disappeared from sight. All Sango could hope for is that Kikyo would take the bait. Sango mental sighed. Here it goes. Sango asked," Hey Kikyo are you worried about Kagome finally catching you and Inuyasha?" Kikyo said," Yea. When I saw her with you when you two came to chat with me I thought foresure that she was going to get me. What makes you ask that sort of question anyway?" Sango replied," Well I was wondering when Kagome does actually catch you do you think Inuyasha will be able to hold up against her without running mind you? I only wonder this because I've heard that she's a pretty big force to reckon with. I heard as big as Lord Sesshomaru."  Sango saw Kikyo give a little shiver. But all the same Kikyo replied," I'm sure Inuyasha will be fine when the time comes for us to battle against Kagome." Sango took her chance and asked," Are you really sure about that Kikyo? I mean really think about this. It's Inuyasha we're talking about. You know how reckless he can get sometimes when he fights." Kikyo took the bait and growled now in a bad mood," I'm positive Sango. Thanks for showing your concern." Sango put her hands up in fake defeat saying," Hey that's all I'm saying. Just watch out for him since you know how he gets." All Kikyo could do is nod and walk away because her anger was getting the better of her. Sango put her hands down as she watched Kikyo walk away from her thinking," Round one complete and successful." Sango then started walking back to Kaede's hut to help Miroku watch Shippo.
Just when Sango reached the hut she sees Kagome peek her head out and ask," So how'd it go?" Sango shook her head good naturedly, entered the hut, and said," She took the bait." Kagome exclaimed," Yes! Alright Sango! I knew you could do it!" Sango gave her thanks and said," I hope that you won't have me do this longer than I need to Kagome. You know I don't want to strain my relationship with her." Kagome waved her hand in dismissal and said," Yea yea you know that I won't." Kagome then turned to Miroku and said," Ok Miroku. It's your turn. Sango just completed her first turn. So now we need to get Inuyasha." Miroku said," Alright Lady Kagome lead the way." Kagome then started walking out of the hut with Miroku when she heard Sango call after them giving them a good luck. While the two were walking they talked about how Miroku was going to banter Inuyasha. Kagome said," Miroku yours is the hardest between the two of them. I can't be around to help you out with this one." Miroku replied," I know. I hope that it goes well though." Kagome said," Yea I'm sure you'll be fine and you'll think of something when the time is right."
Just then the two of them had spotted Inuyasha not far away. Kagome said," This is where I take my leave. You'll be great Miroku." And she left thinking all the while," I know you can do it Miroku." Miroku watched as Kagome left him there wondering how he was going to make this work. He thought," The things I do for you Lady Kagome." He mentally sighed and said," Let's get this over with." Miroku walked a little more and called out," Oi Inuyasha!" Inuyasha turned to the source where he heard his name be called. There he saw Miroku walking towards him. Inuyasha gruffly asked," What'd ya want monk?" Miroku efficiently replied back," Why Inuyasha? Can't I talk to a friend for a while? It's tough living with women and a kid in the house." Inuyasha half felt sorry for the monk half not. Miroku was after all a bit of a pervert when he wanted to be. Inuyasha said," Fine what do want to talk about then." Miroku instantly smiled and the two began to chat for a bit. Miroku saw his chance and took it saying," Inuyasha are you worried that Kagome will get you for good when she sees the chance?" Inuyasha replied," Keh. Ya really think that I don't think about that all the time? Kagome is freaking me and Kikyo out. That girl is bent on revenge I tell ya." Miroku then asked," Do you think Kikyo can hold her own against Kagome seeing that the factor of Kikyo being made of clay?" Miroku didn't have time to react when a punch was pounded onto his head. He then heard Inuyasha grit out from a very pissed expression," She'll be fine monk. She ain't weak ya know." Miroku not wanting to piss off Inuyasha further said," Ok then. Heh heh. Well I'll be on my way back to the hut I just remembered something I needed to talk to Sango about." Inuyasha who was already walking away arms across his chest still very pissed said," Keh. Whatever monk." Miroku watched as his hanyou friend was walking away. He then thought," Well that went well. I got what Lady Kagome was looking for." He then started to walk back to the hut to tell Kagome about his results with Inuyasha.
Once Miroku got to the hut he instantly saw Kagome giddy with excitement on how he did with Inuyasha. All she had to ask was," Did he take it?" And the next moment she was jumping in the air with joy that her plan was actually working. She then said," Alright! Well since the plan is working you don't have to do it tomorrow. I'll have little Shippo here do it for you. I mean what can you do to a child? Nothing right!? Plus he's innocent. He's just doing what I'm asking him to." With that the four of them enjoyed their evening and then went to bed having good dreams.
