~Flashback~

"Rissy! Open up! I promise it's not who you think it is." An 18-year-old Drew tried to get Marisa out of her room.

"Promise?" A now crying 10-year-old Marisa asked back at him.

"With all my heart." Drew replied.

Marisa got up from her position on her bed to go let her babysitter in the room with her.

"Are you okay?" He looked at her with a worried expression.

In response Marisa just nodded hoping that Drew wouldn't find out that her stomach was killing her because of what her father had just put her through.

"Lift up your shirt." Drew demanded the little brown eyed girl standing in front of him.

She just started to cry even harder. Drew's only solution was to bring her into his arms and hold on to her with all his strength.

"H-he hit m-me really hard." She whispered to the blonde boy who was now her best, and only friend.

"Get in my car. I'm bringing you somewhere." He told her.

"W-where?" She stuttered getting very nervous like Marisa always does.

Marisa gets panic attacks very easily and very often.

"Where you are going... people won't hurt you." Drew whispered in her ear soothingly.

Drew, in one swift motion, picked up the very light 10-year-old and brought her to the car.

Once at the car, he buckled her into the backseat very tightly because he knew her phobia of cars.

"Go to sleep. It might take us a while to get to our destination." He said to the younger girl.

Marisa obliged to Drew's orders and fell asleep in the backseat of Drew's Honda Accord.

45 minutes later, Drew and Marisa arrived at the orphanage that drew was taking Marisa to.

"Sweetie?" Drew tried to get Marisa to wake up. "Sweetheart, we're here. Please get up."

"What's happening?" An oblivious Marisa asked her "older brother"

"I'm giving you to an orphanage. You will be safer here and your dad won't be able to find you. I promise."

"Pinky promise?" Marisa asked Drew while sticking out her pinky for him to wrap his around.

"Pinky promise." Drew stated as he wrapped his larger pinky with the little girl's. This is when Drew realized that the younger child was still sitting in front of him.

"Come on. Lets go. And yes, that means you have to get up." He laughed.

"How did you know I was gonna ask if I had to get up?" Marisa questioned the older boy.

"Instinct. I have know you since you were 7. After you take a nap, you don't like to get up. Now get up." He said still with a little giggle.

Together, they walked to the door. As they got closer, Marisa grabbed Drew's hand and held on to it like it meant her life.

"It's going to be okay." And "I'll come back for you." We're just some of the soothing words he whispered in her ear as they got closer and closer to the run-down house.

As they both walked up the steps, still hand-in-hand, Drew knocked on the door lightly, but hard enough for someone to hear it.

The door was soon opened by what looked like a 16-year-old boy. "Can I help you?" The boy asked.
