Off With Their Heads

Chapter 9

When Evangeline stepped out of the portal, she wasn't expecting people to follow her. So when she sat on her throne, she was surprised when three others landed on the floor. She let out a yelp and the guards immediately surrounded the trio and lowered their spears at them.

Evangeline then realized who it was, she raised her hand and the guards pull back and go to their original position. Her guards consisted of citizens of the city who wanted to work. Her Knights were her army only.

Natasha, Steve, and Wanda stood up, grumbling. They were all on guard but when Natasha and Wanda saw Evangeline those two relaxed. Steve stayed the same.

"Where are we?" Wanda asked in her accented voice.

"Salutem. But the citizens call it Wonderland. Would you mind telling me why you followed me to my secret kingdom?"

Natasha replied, "I was curious about it."

Wanda nodded in agreement but Steve said, "I don't trust you."

The Queen smirked and stated, "You should but I expect nothing less from Captain America. Now," Evangeline snapped her fingers and two guards came up. The three Avengers watched.

"Yes milady?" They asked in unison. One was a woman and the other a man.

"How is the new family faring?"

The woman answered, "Since they came in this morning, they have been great. No trouble, they settled in rather quickly."

"Good. Good. Now I have and assignment for you two. You will no longer come here and will now be guards for the new family. Understood?" She asked.

"Yes ma'am." They both said, and with that they left.

Evangeline stands and adresses the trio. "Since you are here I might as well show you around. And don't tell anyone else ay SHIELD about it. It's a secret for a reason."

They followed her and they all walked out of the main door. Immediately after the doors closed behind them they heard a small boy's voice yell, "MOMMY!!"
